  1. Hahahahaha...true!!! Every time they came to San Siro they looked like Cruijff's Holland.
  2. In fact Sassuolo (who also played a 4-2-3-1) suffered a lot defensively.
  3. Right, good comparison. But Platt was better.
  4. It wasn't a surprise, especially for us AC Milan fans; we knew the Premier League was perfect for him. His first year with us was very bad, he was almost scared on the pitch (coming from Brescia to Milano isn't easy). In the second year he suddenly exploded and played exactly like he's doing with you now. Here in Italy, there was a debate about who was better, him or Barella, but the comparison is silly because they are two players with very different characteristics.
  5. For me he can only play in a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 (Inter) or in a 4-2-3-1... he doesn't have the skills to be a number 10.
  6. Frattesi is a player you don't need, he can't replace Bruno or Tonali if they're out and he can't play in a three-man midfield.
  7. What he showed last season in Como is impressive...much stronger than Eze (and I like Eze).
  8. Howe is definitely top 5 and top 2 in defensive phase. What he did last season without Botman (who is by far your best defender) is extraordinary and something you rarely see in Premier League. I watched Arsenal vs. Leeds and was shocked by the Leeds defense's positioning...their defensive phase simply does not exist and it's not a matter of good players. It seems like their manager told them "do as you like"...absurd.
  9. It started with an ambush with a gun, in the middle of traffic. A car stops at traffic light and a scooter pulls up alongside it, shots are fired from the scooter's passenger. The driver of the car is hit four times but miraculously survives, all three are AC Milan ultras, fighting for control of the stadium.. A police investigation began there leading to the arrest of 10 people. It seemed all over but a month ago AC Milan decided to ban hundreds of ultras from entering San Siro. All other ultras, in solidarity, decided to no longer enter the stand. You can check here about the ambush: https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2024/10/17/enzo-anghinelli-tentato-omicidio-milano-fermato-danilo-cataldo-indagato-luca-lucci-curva-milan/7733802/ Something similar also happened among Inter ultras but the attacks were successful and resulted in two deaths, one of which was also caught on video. https://youtu.be/PlATFMZkP5c
  10. Probably, after 57 years, this will be the first season without Ultras in San Siro.
  11. He had a horrible season at Juventus, yet he still scored 10 goals in 29 games (often coming off the bench). Juventus fans hate him and the club wants to sell him for his monstrous salary... I don't know where you read £25, but in Italy we know he can leave for €20 million and at that price I think it's a good deal. He is Slavic and like all Slavs their performances, when they leave their country, are absolutely unpredictable (at least in Italy it has always been like this). Considering that you play in the Champions League, someone with his experience could be very useful.
  12. We actually like him quite a bit. He's not a champion, but he could be very useful to our game... I think Allegri thinks differently. Jonathan David would have been a great signing (for free), he would have been the perfect replacement for Isak for you too.
  13. Frattesi is definitely a good player. He has pace and personality but he lacks a bit of precision and is quite anarchic on the pitch (this can be positive or negative depending on how the team play). The main problem is that in your 4-3-3, in my opinion, he wouldn't work well... it's a different story in a 4-man midfield (or a 5-man midfield like Inter's).
  14. No one with those characteristics... Jashari is much more similar to Tonali, Ricci is an excellent prospect but very far from Rejnders and Modric is a pure playmaker. To replace him, a young De Bruyne would be needed but in the European panorama someone like him doesn't exist.
  15. Tonali's best trait is that when his midfield teammates are having a bad day (like yesterday), he's capable of holding up the midfield ALONE... it happened often at AC Milan too. And watch out for Reijnders, he's a beast... totally different from Tonali in terms of characteristics but just as effective for the team.
  16. You basically described the situation we have in Italy with Napoli fans. It's identical. Regarding Heysel (I'm old enough to remember well), here we put more blame on the Belgian authorities than on the English fans. I remember that they were badly beaten in Rome the year before and probably didn't want it to happen again.
  17. Yes, my mistake...for us Cockneys = Londoners.
  18. Just curious, because in Italy the question is very simple... do you hate Liverpool or Man Utd more, or maybe some cockney team? And why? I mean the team or their fans.
  19. There are incredible stories from those years, unfortunately the younger generations in Italy know nothing about them, and there's a risk that something like this could happen again in the future. You can watch an interview with these two (with subtitles, it's from the early 1990s and they were in prison)... they started in the mid-1970s, at 18 years old, killing two political opponents, and from there they ended up in a spiral of violence that killed magistrates, police officers, and their own friends accused of treason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0qhamMgDYE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxNfbEW1Bu4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYkPG6owQEw
  20. Right, I didn't remember that scene... the funny thing is that Tomas Millian, years later, declared that to get into character he started drinking alcohol and taking drugs when everyone knew he had been a cocaine addict for years before the film.
  21. Caliber 9 is a masterpiece...and it was filmed right in Milano.
  22. To get an idea of those years in Milano (and also in the rest of Italy).... this photo is famous because it shows the murder of a policeman during a clash between far-left and far-right factions. The police arrived firing tear gas and the factions opened fire on them. Check out Years of Lead on Wikipedia.
  23. In those years there were very few police at the stadium, so you had to arm and protect against other groups of Ultras.
