  1. Completely agree with this & with the risk of causing outrage. I think Eddie Howe just might want to see him sold as well.
  2. Sorry if I wasnt clear, i purely mean in terms of market inflation. I think they were 35, 40 and 60 million give or take, but with inflation you get to 60 million for bruno straight away. I get inflation isnt linear, but as a rough guess I reckon im not far off their adjusted cost
  3. Yep - the other obvious example of this is Brendan rodgers at Liverpool Vs the transfer committee, all ended in tears trying to appease both
  4. I agree with your first point, he has a strong voice at the table, but he cant have complete control. Going back to my first example, that's where you get the antony at united for £80m situation
  5. Hard disagree here. Manager should not be in charge of recruitment. Sure he is a key voice at the table, but managers often miss the bigger picture. A strong recruitment team is needed to avoid the MUFC mess of ETH recruiting for him and now Amorim having a squad useless to him.
  6. I think you could well be right, but at the end of the day if the club want to compete they have to retain players like Isak with new contract. Sandro next etc. Right now (assuming Isak wants to go) Howe has two options in front of him 1) Sell and release circa 200m for investment in the squad 2) Hold to contract and deal with a misearable player bringing squad morale down within a squad known for it's togetherness He is picking envelope one all day
  7. They have endless PSR wiggle room this summer, before any sales. The only debate is if the owners are prepared to spend the money or not, that seems very unlikely
  8. Dont see any reason for doubt here. They will sell circa 200m this summer They have the injection due to jota tragedy They have spend fuck all in the last 3 windows They would have the scope to go well above 300m net if they want this summer. The bigger question is that right or wrong? PSR bullshit IMHO
  9. PL have the right to establish fair market value, so technically true but in reality it's not an issue, unless longstaff went for 200m etc
  10. along with this and the probable sales of Nunez, elliot, diaz etc; it's worth noting that they will have, to the best of my knowledge, recieved a market value insurance payout for Diogo Jota. Obviously not planned or something they wanted (RIP), but the cash injection Vs a discounted sale of an injury prone player will be huge for their accounts and PSR.
  11. all we can hope for is PSG, there is no other market if he has no interest in saudi
  12. This is great in Theory & I'd love to see it. But Eddie howe will want him gone and the £200+ in PSR wiggle room (give or take); to re-invest right now. Ultimately cutting off nose to spit your face isn't the right approach, even if it gives the player what they want.
  13. yes - and the concern is he might be less willing to play with a niggle if unhappy. Not to mention cotton wolling himself should Sweden qualify for WC. They have a plush draw
  14. Reality is the greater the progress and the increased elite players in your squad, the more power the players have. The elite pool is very small & players have all the power. To retain & continue to attract more, you simply have to pay them what the market dictates
  15. It's not a question of morality, it's one of parity & what he can get if he moves. Haaland paid twice that over the counter and probably again under it with image rights etc.
  16. Completely agree - City take the P*ss and in fairness to them are absolutely proud of it. Their new jersey deal is hilarious & makes no commercial sense for Puma, yet here we all are. PIF should push to the absolute limit of everything possible re sponsorship, transfers, loans and even tours to SA. The big question is why they arent. Hard to understand why they dont want to accelerate the project, given their aggression in everything they do
