Wingers and Fullbacks

Why the hell do our wingers and fullbacks feel the need to beat a player at least three times before crossing the ball?

It's know wonder we can't score. The forwards have already made their runs so end up stationary by the time the ball is crossed, that is if it gets crossed at all.

today milner had the ball inspace,on a break, owen broke inside his man,a ball to the edge of the 6yd box would have given owen an easy chance....milner cut his man ina and out and lost the chance.....in the 2nd half n'zogbia done exactly the same thing.

It's a sympom of our low confidence.  None of our players seem to trust their instinct at the moment.  They'll consider a first time ball, then you can see the doubt when they change their mind and compose themself rather than go for it.  the delay just breeds confidence in th opposition.

I have noticed that we get into space but our decision making is wrong everytime. If the forwards are near post we always cross to the far post. If the forwards are far post the ball goes into the near post. If the forwards are in the 6 yard box we drag it back and if they are holding back we play it in the 6 yard box. Its been happening all season.

A big problem is the fact we haven't got enough bodies in the box to aim a cross/pass at. Milner placed a great ball across the box in the first half and we had three players , including Owen, jogging slowly on the edge of the box.

The players have no impetus; to win a loose ball, to get to a header first, to make space, to drive forward with the ball at feet, to sprint into the box to reach crosses etc etc.
