Dave
Konami publish Premier League fixture lists? How bizarre.
Guest Jawesome
To get around the fixture list can we not just put up fake names that sound similar a la Pro Evo. For example. Red Manchester Marmosets vs FC Tyneside West Bromwich and District Football Society vs Teeside Thunder etc Sadly no. Why, it's not a breach of copyright. The forum would still get shut down. Well how come Konami doesn't get sued for doing it with the team names? They do actually pay for some sort of rights I believe.
relámpago blanco
Konami publish Premier League fixture lists? How bizarre. No but they don't have the license to publish all of the team names as EA have those rights.

Yes it does they are both governed by copyright law.
Dave
Lots of things are governed by copyright law. Are Konami likely to have their forum closed down because the Premier League threaten their webhost with legal action? No. Can we publish fixtures on here? No. The end. It's fucking beyond me why people seem to want to try and argue this basic point every couple of months.

Ok, but I've only started posting recently so I wasn't aware of that and found the subject quite interesting. On another note, is posting any fixture from the list contravening this? Does it just have to be a full list because people do put the fixture on the match threads etc and discuss them.
Dave
Read the recent thread for the rough guidelines. It's still a pretty grey area, we just want to play it safe that's all.
thomas
First they came for the transfer forum and I didn't speak up. Then they came for the fixture lists and I didn't speak up. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up for me.

Shearergol
£5000 and you can post them. £250 per club, and it doesn't even get passed onto them! Amazing isn't it.
