So if we stay up he got lucky, not judged the situation correctly?

 

And if we go down he made a mistake, not got unlucky?

 

Seems a bit unfair to me like.

 

Think of it as Russian roulette. You'd have to be an idiot to get involved in it in the first place. If you blow your brains out people will say it was a mistake to play. If you don't, people won't say it was sound judgement of the situation. They will still say you are an idiot for playing, but you got lucky not paying the price. Nothing unfair about it.
