surely we could get someone big to just stand in front of where he is going to make the throw and block it?

Pretty sure that's deemed unsporting behaviour.

If they're 2m away it's fine.  Otherwise they'd be cautioned for failing to respect the required distance at a restart  :pow:

Assuming we mean a player on the field here like.

Aye, Dean Windass tried warming up in front of Delap a few times and got booked for it despite not being on the pitch.

Apparently he was giving Delap a right earful as he ran up to take the throws.

The gameplan - whilst not pretty - is fair enough. The timewasting is what f***s me off.

Exactly and this is something a lot of people are simply missing the point with and trying to cite Harpers goal kicks as balancing this out is ludicrous tbh.

Losing over 10 mins of the game due to these long throws is shocking.

When Allardyce was here it got to the point where  some people were rumbling/booing Geremi going from one side of the pitch to the other to take a long throw in.

I am waiting for the day when our lot boo a goal, you know its coming.

I thought that was gonna come when Clark scored that last minute equaliser against the Boro a few weeks before Souness was sacked

It was on the radio earlier that Pedersen had used the red Stoke City towel to dry the ball before taking a throw-in like Delap does.

The home crowd booed him and a member of the Stoke coaching staff came off the bench to take the towel away.

How sad do they want to be.
