Guest michaelfoster
Number of fans who have visited SJP on match days this season, which averages out at 48,750. Not bad considering the majority of the away teams have brought nowhere near the 3,000 away allocation (only Hull, Man Utd, Liverpool, Sunderland, Arsenal, Chelsea & Sunderland have brought decent numbers iirc), others have been woefully short and the fact we are in the middle of a credit crunch. Since stadium was expanded to 50k 07/08: 975,093 (Average of 51,321) 06/07: 963,036 (Average of 50,686) 05/06: 988,609 (Average of 52,032) 04/05: 985,040 (Average of 51,844) 03/04: 987,358 total (Average of 51,966) 02/03: 986,479 total, (Average of 51,920) 01/02: 976,079 total (Average of 51,373) 00/01: 974,874 total (Average of 51,309)
Leazes1986
Could and would have been higher if it wasn't for a certain fat idiot.

manorpark
HUGE attendances for years (2nd largest club ground in UK most of the time, still 3rd biggest). HUGE amounts of sales in club shops, etc, for years. HUGE sponsorship deals. HUGE media coverage for years. HUGE income/turnover, for years (between 3rd largest and 5th largest in UK, for many years). HUGE world-wide fanbase, for years. Therefore . . . we are one of the biggest clubs in the world . . . (undoubtedly) WHAT HAVE "THEY" DONE WITH ALL THAT, YEAR AFTER YEAR???? WHERE IS THE "ENDLESS" COLLECTION OF TROPHIES???

Stu
Has anyone thought about starting a thread about this season's attendances before...?

EDIT: At least the original thread was decent enough to credit the source of the stats As cp40 had said though, this thread had become about "The BIGGEST failures in World Football". The immense mysteries of which are surely worth discussing. What we have 'achieved' is clearly impossible!
cp40
acording to the Legends tonight, if we are relegated, we will be the best supported side ever relegated, the next highest was manchester united with an average of 42,

Lets hope (looking on the bright side) we get promoted next season, with the highest ever Second Division ('Championship') crowds. It will still be another 'unwanted' record though! "IF" we get promoted, that is!!) (and perhaps . . . "IF" we go down in the first place - but this "IF" seems very likely!)

Yes it is, 54k ish, crazy really, but apparently our fans only turned up when KK came the first time. It really is a crying shame for the fans what's happened to this club not just this season but over the last 50 so years, we should be reguarily challenging for trophies as we were in at the turn of the 20th century and in the 1950's. The club has failed it's supporters big time and consistently.
