In the Chron last night apparently - read it in Fenwicks before work !

Well, quick answer is "Do us all a favour and put that to the test, eh ?"

I reckon a few people might be interested for £500k a year.

At least he's signalled that he would sell out to the right buyer.  Some bloke like Abramovich.  But who's a Geordie.  Mustn't be short.  Or thin.  Ideally should keep pigeons or a whippet.  And be born on the 4th of July.  And like Pina Coladas.  And getting caught in the rain.

No wonder he can't find a buyer, eh?

Well, even if there's no-one prepared to take over the ownership of the club, (and that's questionable, given all we've heard about the Belgravia group), perhaps Freddie could appoint a Chief Executive and a Director of Football, and kick himself upstairs.

It's not his ownership that's the problem in itself. It's the degree of hands-on involvement that he has, which extends into the football side. He may be a good businessman, but there's areas of running a football club where he's not competent. Unfortunately, he doesn't realise that.

right, so you some in and start making decisions about the club in which Shep has a 30% interest and the Halls have over 50%?

how long would that last? IIRC that is exactly why Fred's last 'resignation' failed

Well the overall strategy would still lie in the hands of the Board, but at least you could keep him out of the fields of player, coach and manager recruitment, where Shepherd has been doing the real damage.

Having said that, I'm sure that Freddie wouldn't agree to that more detached role. He's a fan, and he's very keen to get involved in the football side of things. Unfortunately, that's the very reason why he's not suited to the job.

But he just repeats old interview answers, how many times has he gone on about a Geordie Abramovich buying us or when asked if the situation could change,he always says "well i told the wife i loved her this morning".What a pr1ck.

Tomorrow evening, on being asked why he'd sacked Roeder just 48 hours after saying his job was safe...

"This morning I told my wife I loved her. You should only say good of people when they go. Roeder's gone. Good."

what interests me, that most people who have some sought of career, usually start at some sought of college, university, or have worked their way through a company for many years, you know that sought of thing....but chairman of football clubs, one minute there doing their own thing next minute theyve elevated themselves into a football club without it seems any formal background, doesn"t make sense, espicially these days with the huge sums of money being bandied around....its not as if we know what he does everyday day of the week at sjp...so what does his day entail...and if hes looking for someone to take over[ not necessarily to buy the club] but to put it more on an even kiel, im quite sure ther"ll be a boat load of applicants...anyhow what does russel cushing do, is he still there ?
