Woman I used to work with in Dandenong was engaged to John Pilger many years ago.

Anyway, I am from Melbourne, down on the Mornington Peninsula and work in Dandenong. Any of you guys close?

Used to live in Low Fell back home but been out here over 30 years now. I was back in blighty for last Christmas and managed to get to the boxing day game against Man City.

And some good pubs. Last time I was down for drinking was the Sydney Melbourne A-League Grand Final. There is an Irish pub under the casino that rocks my socks.

Just did a quick Google Streetview vacation for Melbourne and I never realized it was such a large city.  Looks like a good time.

Sydney is a better party town imo. Melbourne is more cultured plus you can walk up side streets in Sydney and not get stabbed

Sydney's the place to go if you want a decent race riot too, tbh.

We also have more violent bikie gangs, neanderthal rugby league players and a bridge!

Fuck off

Never felt unsafe out at night in Melbourne. On the other hand, we did alright at the organised crime ten years back. Our cops were never quite as bent as yours tbh.

Good old Roger Rogerson :D

To be fair and serious Melbourne is a great city and a must do for anyone that is visiting Australia especially if your with your missus though advisable to leave the wallet at home cause the girls find a lot of shit to buy. Never going to make that mistake again

I'm living in Melbourne for another 2 months, might move to Sydney or Brisbane next, not sure. Tough call, ay.

Sydney's a much better city imo, only ever been there on holiday though. Brisbane's big drawcards are climate and the Gold / Sunny Coasts- it's just the city itself is a little meh. Having said that, it's a lot more lively than it was even ten years ago.

Anyway, should be in Melbourne next weekend for the qualifying final on Saturday- you going to make it to the game?

I'm not sure, hopefully, what time is it on? What you doing for the QPR game, such a s*** time to be on. Really want to see it though. Do you think anywhere will show it?

Thats the best thing about Sydney always can go to the Royal Eastern Hotel they have football on inside and outside for us smokers and it is right next to Central so easy to go out and celebrate/drown sorrows.

I'll probably be back in Brisbane for the QPR game, haven't booked flights yet though so may stay a little longer. Don't know that anywhere will be open for a 5am kick off except maybe the casino, but that's just a guess.  Elephant and Wheelbarrow on Bourke St also shows games, but again doubt they'd be open that time. No idea really.

Saturday's game will be a 2.30 start at the MCG.
