Guest tobiazvanderziaz
Do people not see how often Butt misplaces passes? For all he does well there is a lot of shite in amongst it, he knows his position like but I still believe Parker plays the role better - the main problem with Parker this season is that we've been trying to use him as our attacking midfielder when Emre is blatantly more effective in that role. Parker was excellent last season playing more defensively, if people can cast their minds back a bit to those glorious days under Souness.

The problem when Butt first arrived was that he thought he was a big fish in a small pond and tried to hit all those long 'hollywood passes' that he wasn't good enough to pull off. now he's coming to possession and releasing the ball quickly and accurately over small distances. As a result the team looks far more fluid going forward - we can actuallly break and use our pace. When Parker was in the team we had the same pacy players, but they weren't being utilised. Parker holds onto the ball too long, twisting and turning until the chance for a turn in play is gone. I can remember 2 or 3 occasions in one match (liverpool away) where parker LITERALLY gave up trying to pass to anyone, stood still and let Emre take the ball off him. He also doesn't have the intelligence or discipline to play like a DM - doesn't hold a position or stay on his feet, consequently he leaves huge gaps everywhere. maybe he'd look better in a 3 man midfield but we play 4-4-2 so he doesn't fit in. johnnypd
Butt = Acuna - Passion Acuna was much better going forward too. maybe we should resign him as a backup player, he's only 31.
CaliMag
Butt = Acuna - Passion Acuna was much better going forward too. maybe we should resign him as a backup player, he's only 31. Sarcasm? Surely Acuna is past his best. Isn't he playing in Argentina right now? I think he also had a year off recently due to a severe injury.

Guest BooBoo
I tend to give TF a miss these days, i always find it has a bit of a hooligan symapthiser vibe about it. Not what it was when it started out. Paullys match reviews are still amusing mind.
