Perhaps a polarising one, but the word 'Striker'. Much prefer centre forward.

On the same topic.. the emergence and overuse of 'talisman' grates on me

In this day and age of financial transactions being scrutinised more than ever before why are clubs allowed to sign players for 'undisclosed fees'? How can clubs do that in 2025? What are they hiding and why shouldn't every single penny of the deal be made public?

Talking about the overall fee, the agents cut, the signing on fee, and the basic wage structure of the player etc. Obviously the basic + bonus wage will change from month to month and that's a little more personal and private to the player but the huge sums of money exchanging hands when a big deal goes through should be made public and I can't understand why it doesn't happen given the limits of PSR these days

Optimistic Nut

I think wages, bonuses, etc are fine to be secret, transfer fees should 100% be open, though.

“We struggle to score against low block teams”. Low blocks are supposed to be tough to attack against,   that’s like the whole point.

Bring back “park the bus”

What was a "pivot" called when "park the bus" was doing the rounds? Anchorman? Holding midfielder?

More of a forum-specific one, but please stop using “cuck” seriously to describe our transfer business ffs  We’re not gonna mainstream right-wing dipshit lingo.

It's incredibly difficult to find an alternative term for something so specific and so correct. I tried out 'Reek from Game of Thrones' but it didn't land.

Sky Sports panning to another game every 2 minutes whilst I miss the actual game I have tuned in to watch

This 100%. What was wrong with the little "goal alert" pop up bottom left they used to have? They show us the goals elsewhere at half time anyway.

Fuck you Sky, absolutely go and fuck yourself with a rusty nail.

Whoever came up with it coming up like that needs to be sacked, and whoever signed up on it needs to be sacked, and the test audience they used who said it was ok need to booted into the fucking sea.

A PIP in the top right hand corner yeah, that, fuck right off.
