One of the main positives of Sam Allardyce arriving is the prospect of us having a constructive backroom staff.

Guest icemanblue
Using NUFC to get the job he wants at Hull tbh. Phil is my one of my dads mates. He left Bolton because he has managerial aspirations of his own, and would only consider stepping into another assistant role if it was at a 'major club'. Are we that? We'll see. Martin Lol
I would say Phil Brown joining Newcastle would be good for you. It's obvious that Big Sam has a lot to do setting up the club as he wants it. Who better to help him than someone who was with him for years at Bolton, knows how the system works, someone that Sam can trust to implement the system as Sam wants it run. I think recruiting Brown could speed up Newcastle's transitional stage significantly.
toontownman
Sounds like he is in, IF something goes wrong with the Hull Job negotiations.. IE.."Mr Chairman I want more money, give it mr or I will go to newcastle"..
toontownman
More worrying Carr isnt mentioned in the whole first article with the stayings/comings/goings. A pay rise and elevation to the coaching team perhaps?
Benwell Lad
Allardyce played for Sundlund for a short while but that means nothing. Professional players they often have to play against the team they allegedly support. Even Shearer loved scoring against Newcastle in his Blackburn days. However Phil Brown is a Sundlund fan and even though he's a professional and would do what is necessary for any club who pay his wages, it would seem strange him being at Newcastle. Imagine one of us on here being a Sundlund coach ??
