  1. Crystal Palace are interested in signing Newcastle flop Siem de Jong, according to reports.

De Jong, who signed for the Magpies in 2014, spent last season on loan at PSV.

His Newcastle career has been plagued by injuries, but Eagles boss Frank de Boer is keen on a reunion with the striker.

The pair worked together at Ajax for four years, winning four successive Eredivisie titles.

Despite returning to Newcastle in the summer, De Jong is not in manager Rafa Benitez’s first-team plans. He is behind Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic in the pecking order.

The Dutch international would play second fiddle to Christian Benteke at Selhurst Park, but could rediscover the form he showed under De Boer in Holland.

Thought they were after his daft brother?

Aye good shout, probably lazy journalism...

  3. Sunderland are considering a move for Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn. Black Cats boss Simon Grayson is said to be an admirer of the 27-year-old, who began his career with the Wearside club before moving to Leicester City in 2010.

  4. I just joined a public league also to have a dummy run at the draft.  Here is how my team turned out

    Lloris

    Butland

    Alonso

    Vertonghen

    Kolisanic

    Trippier

Lejeune (It had me idle and logged me out so done an automatic pick for me which I had hardly put any players in.  Was sitting waiting to take Andy Robertson but it done an immediate transfer for me)

    Eriksen

    Coutinho

    Tadic

    Willian

    Ritchie

    Lukaku

    Benteke

    Rooney

Hoping that with the ten team leagues it will make it a bit more difficult in picking a squad as it should be more of a laugh/challenge having to choose some of the dross in the league.

Someones first pick in the draft was Joe Hart

  5. If recent transfer rumours of homegrown players were to be believed it appears Ashley and Co are still looking for value and are targeting players who will only have 12 months remaining on their contracts.

In recents weeks we have seen Shawcross, Keane, Arfield, Andre Gray and Luke Shaw who are all out of contract in 2018 linked with moves.

  6. NEWCASTLE have joined the race for £1 million-rated Hearts defender Callum Paterson - but the Magpies want the right back for their Under-23 team.

Hearts, who rejected a £600,000 bid from Wigan, are keen to hold onto the 21-year-old for this season but know there is interest in the player.

Damn, he's ditched the "come on toons" :(

Has Rafa signed the correct person?  He is not fast and he's not the Scotland Captain either...

Blackburn fans say he is fast.

He is not slow but he's never really looked fast either when playing for Scotland.
