Given how poor we are in centre midfield I would take a punt on James Morrison on a free for some more experience. If Hull don't win the play-offs I wouldn't be surprised to see us linked with Elmohamady given his name has been linked over the last 12 months and he will be on a free too.
Dreading getting linked with Steven Fletcher

Ba > Remy for us, without a doubt. Remy is still a very good player and we'd probably stay up if we signed him. We should hurry up and sign him so we can play him in the cup at the weekend to get him up to speed a bit.
Agreed Ba was the best striker I have seen since Shearer. To think with a little ambition and a better manager we could/should have had a forward line of Remy, Ba and Ben Arfa playing for us even now.

Crystal Palace are understood to have expressed an interest in Newcastle United left-back Paul Dummett - but the Eagles face a race against time to get the deal done on deadline day.
Sources at Palace suggest that Dummett is a player that Alan Pardew - who handed him his Newcastle debut - still admires the Geordie defender and is keen to add more Premier League experience to his squad at Selhurst Park.
Palace sounded out the possibility of signing Dummett last week but knew they needed to clear their wage bill before moving for another defender.
Palace then moved both Barry Bannan and Glenn Murray out of Selhurst Park yesterday.
Wales international Dummett is thought to be valued at around £8million and has two years left on his current contract.
But time is running out for Pardew and they are still to table an official bid.

According to his Wiki Chucky has signed on loan for AEK Athens...

How does anyone know he won't be part of the first team? There's no evidence to suggest McClaren will dump him in the reserves
Not saying he will be dumped there just can't see where he will fit in the current set up. His best play has been when played as an attacking midfielder (never been convinced with him out wide in the Premier League) and we have so many players who appear to be in the running for our "number 10" spot I really can't see him being involved.

Manu's transfer activity post Fergie has been shocking. That guy in charge is a fool.
If De Gea goes they have let go of this team in the last 12 months
De Gea, Evra, Vidic, Evans, Rafael, Fletcher, Di Maria, Kagawa, Nani, Van Persie, Welbeck
Along with Zaha, Cleverley a load of youngsters plus its still looking like Chicharito will be sold tonight and possibly Januzaj on loan.
Do they really look any better?

The transfer window closes on September the 1st at 6pm so there's still time. Having said that, Marveaux is currently recovering from a hernia operation. I think he is due back some time in September.
Aye but thats only in England (and Scotland until midnight). Most of the European deadlines are this evening are they not?

Its looking likely that Sylvain is going to be spending the next 12 months in the reserves. Really thought he would have been moved on before today.

Have seen a few tweets etc about Owen being paraded at St James Park 9 years ago today. I remember being more chuffed that Nobby was re-signing!

Yassine Benzia from Lyon. A forward apparently.
L'Equipe have him going to Lille.

Lamela linked to Marseille.

Hamburg are lining up former Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt as a replacement for Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United.
According to the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper, the Magpies have made the northern Germany club an offer they cannot refuse for the 23-year-old, who was only on the bench for their defeat to Cologne at the weekend.
That is also where Hunt was for Wolfsburg's 3-0 win over Schalke, and where he has spent most of his time for the Wolves since joining them from Bremen last summer.
The 28-year-old would not be expected to cost much either, since he joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer a year ago and only appeared in 15 matches for them.

Next England manager by Southern press demand. This s*** is absolutely unbelievable.
Here's hoping!

Signing someone 'exciting' today if they can get it over the line
Bakary Sako

Moutinho
Honestly, some people will believe anything. We need to set up a fake journalist account.
Its easily done. A certain Hitzfeld rumour certainly gained some momentum
Some Rangers fans still talk about this one too

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Colback move to LB to shoehorn others into CM. Colback will start every game though, of that I'm almost certain.
I though Anita would end up back there when all the CMs are fit. He played there quite a bit for Ajax I think?

Marseille are falling apart, like. Ayew & Gignac leave for free, Nkoulou to do the same. Payet has gone, Imbula too.
Rod Fanni is meant to be going to Al Arabi too.

I'm 100% on board with the coaches now, if not entirely with the manager. Best team we've had for years.
We still seem light on coaching staff and I'm gutted we missed out on Steele and are stuck with woodman.
Are Palace not keen on Woodman? I could still see Steele coming in once Woodman has been moved on.

Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich? I can't believe a spell in the Scottish Championship could mean we are going to get some money in for him tbh.
Obviously there's no chance of us sending any more up to Rangers but it might be in our interest to work with Hibs (particularly with them being so close) and get some more of the youngsters up there to "shine"....

Betting suspended on Micah Richards to Villa...

So if we are performing poorly under McClaren what happens at board level?
"So we need to sack the manager, close your ears Steve you might not like this...."

So depressing!
Glad I stuck something on him last night when he was still 5/4
-
Still reckon its going to be McClaren. Even at shit odds I stuck some money on him.
If I could get odds on David Craig announcing it I would be sticking loads on it.
McClaren has always been Carrs man, hes happy with the "head coach" role and the Ashley/Keith Bishop Associates/David Craig/McClaren links cannot be coincidental.

And, incredibly, over an hour after the final whistle, Mohsni rushed off the Rangers team bus to challenge Erwin to a fight. Erwin was signing autographs at the time and security staff had to intervene to stop a fresh confrontation between the two players.
The mans a loon!
