It will be very hard to get a top striker of a decent age, they know Owen will be back and wil lalso have to battle for a spot with Martins and Shola. But someone like Jan Koller may fancy a stint in the Prem before the end of their career, he is 33 so its not to old and yeah his height is awesome, taller than Crouch. Would Monaco let him leave though ?

Roeder saying he wants a striker is fine but we have Owen, Martins, Luque, Shola, Sibi. Owen may be back this season and Luque will be leaving but can we really get a decent striker to ocme here ? So do we need to look at maybe an older striker we can get short term? Jan Koller is what 33 ? he ascores lots of goals would be worth looking at?

We were linked with Kuffour when Souness was here were we not ? and I think Appiah is another short arse, well 5' 8" not what we need but I cannot think of any other Ghana players he would have any interest in.

We held Arsenal to 1 (or possibly 2) under Bobby but got battered and only poor finishing prevented a rout. Particulary in the Palmero game the Defence looked like it was solid and wouldn't concede. It should be that which determines progress, not simply a scoreline I think that had a lot to do with the choice of back four though, no Carr or Babayaro we played four CB's and we were miles better.
