On a side note, it's annoying how so many refs seem to think that just because a challenge results in a penalty it is necessarily also worthy of a yellow.

Was going to mention goalkeepers. Very often the double whammy of pen + keeper sent off just because they're obviously in a 'last defender' sort of position is much too harsh. The intent on fouling and likelihood of getting the ball should definitely be taken into account.

Cisse will be on par with Shola this year by that logic.

Not really. Shola might know our system and the personality of his team mates but never seems to be bothered actually using that information.
