Offside Goal? You can't have an offside own goal.
I guess technically you could depending on the attacker's involvement/positioning... having just seen the goal though there isn't a single offside at any point. Don't know what the messing about with the linesman in the aftermath was all about.

Vieira completes the Man City move then... rather strange signing really.
Plus I hate Vieira with a passion, shame that he's back in the Prem.
-
We do need to get that Yellow and black combo going again, it really works well.
Funny how high Puma are putting the badges, they keep getting higher and higher, they'll be on the shoulder soon.
-
The people also simply just don't really seem to want it. Certainly not at a cost of the national leagues.
-
The idea of watching European style football with European type refereeing all the time is not something I would look forward to.
I remember this same debate coming every so often as long ago as I can remember and I am glad to see it is no further forward at all. The current CL format is a good compromise.

Unless it's substantially more money, no. Definitely not.

I find some of Macca's comments a little ridiculous.
How anyone can tell what Shearer is like as a manager is beyond me.
Is the right answer surely.
-
Peperami aeroplanes.
Haven't been to many games, but it is my pride that I was there for both the Peperami planes and the Bowyer Dyer fight
...

Shearer does not have the managerial ability, tactical know how to match his ever growing ego to cut the mustard with the likes of the top managers in our game. That was well and truly proven last season.
It was?

Shola and Crynaldo.

Bergkamp vs Us. Best goal I've ever seen.
Will never believe that was intentional. Good improvisation though.
From that list I'd say Rooney's volley.
-
Because Jenas turned downhill, a lot of people forget his early stuff which was really good. He won Player of the Year (Young) didn't he? Can't have been too bad.
Indeed he did. Developed really quickly with us, remember his first goal took a while to come but after that he couldn't stop scoring in 02-03.
For me he edges out Dyer in our decade XI because he played more often and more consistently well.

Yeah that's great Joey.
We'd be better off having a delusional schizophrenic that was at least half decent rather than Barton.
-
Nah. Sutton was class, but Shearer was in machine mode with Blackburn. Les was a similar type of player to Sutton but a better version.
-
Thankfully you had to quote the whole thing though

Bobby saw the potential in the Kluivert/Bellamy partnership by putting them together at Villa that time. Aye Shearer was on the bench but i hardly get the feeling it was a Sunderland/Gullit situation.
Don't think so at all. It was mainly media hype because of what happened with Gullit. I'm sure Sir Bobby and Shearer were level with each other, which showed in their relationship after that.
This would apply to the Bellamy quote too, just got himself worked up and looking for someone to blame.

I guess if it's Puma so be it. Some points that I really hope for however:
- Enough with the centred badge please.
- Enough with a patch on the back.
- Enough with the huge patch around Northern Rock (if they renew, or with whatever the next sponsor is)
- Use Red lettering/numbering, why not?

21) PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS - MORE /LESS / EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL
How can we be more successful than top 3, or less successful than relegation?
exactly we're stuck!
-
Steven Taylor over Bassong or Faye? Come on man!
That's probably the only really debatable position for the first XI... Woodgate's partner. I guess that they were part season wonders works against those two.
-
1) BEST TOON DEFENDER FROM THE LAST DECADE
Well, Woodgate I guess
2) BEST MIDFIELDER
Tough, one... Rob Lee was on his last legs in this decade, maybe Robert or Speed, but I would got with SOLANO.
3) BEST STRIKER
Shearer, obviously. Rought start to the decade for him, but he was back with a vengeance.
4) BEST OVERALL PLAYER
Yeah, Shearer here too surely, he reinvented himself well.
5) BEST MANAGER
Easiest question of the whole thing, the one and only SIR BOBBY
6) MOST DISAPPOINTING PLAYER
Owen maybe, he had his moments, but in hindsight it was all such a waste of everyone's time.
7) WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED...
8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO...
BELLAMY. He was the best player at the club the season he left.
9) BEST HOME GAME
4-3 vs ManU H (01-02) ?
10) BEST AWAY / NEUTRAL GAME
3-1 vs Arsenal A (01-02)
11) WORST GAME
0-1 vs Partizan H (03-04)
12) BEST GOAL SCORED
Bellamy vs Feyenoord
13) WORST GOAL CONCEDED
There have been too many pathetic ones...
15) BEST HAIRCUT
Scott Parker
16) WORST HAIRCUT
Jonas
17) BEST LOOKING PLAYER
Speedo?
18) UGLIEST PLAYER
Marcelino
19) DIRTIEST PLAYER
Joey Barton obviously
20) BEST STARTING XI OF THE DECADE
Given
Beye - Woodgate - Saylor - Bernard
Solano - Speed - Jenas - Robert
Shearer - Bellamy
21) PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS - MORE /LESS / EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL
Tricky, in a way it will be VERY difficult to be more successful given the highs achieved by Bobby's team. The highs have been, the lows low. Just hope for things to cheer and feel proud about.
22) IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING FROM THE LAST DECADE
Maybe Bobby's sacking, although I agreed with it.
-
What a finish. Shame though.
-
Special mention for Duncan too. Didn't last very long, but I enjoyed the "Twin Towers" a lot.
For me it has to be Les. I think it's very harsh to say they were just two quality strikers rather than partners, they were very willing to always help each other out right from the start.
Bellamy was exactly what Shearer needed at that time (which underlines Sir Bobby's genius really) but overall has to be Ferdinand.

Will Barton's return lead to better football?

I'm not falling into the Barton trap again. The guy's just a waste of everyone's time.
