West Ham fans must be enjoying the build up. Almost totally about Zola and Chelsea and great they both are

So, are they?
Been off 10 minutes and we've still been all over them. No sign of their defence pushing up further, no sign of the ball keep coming back at us, no sign of us not being a threat. Difference is, the wingers are playing well, midfielders are keeping the ball better, and the defence has been solid.
We'll never know, but I feel it's very much moot today. Could have been very different had it still been 1-0. I'm hoping Martins came off because of the injury, not as part of Kinnear plan.

So he can track back and provide some extra cover on Kranjcar.
And why do we need that? Joe Kinnear school of thinking there.
I'd have Duff now as he can keep possession and time waste well, whereas Zog has cocked up in that sort of situation before.
That is not untrue actually. Sometimes we could use a man that has the ability to make nothing happen for long periods of time.

One thing I've noticed: our players stop play when they appeal for penalties. Play to the whistle and don't make it seem as if you're guilty of something!

I'd bring on Duff for Martins though.
Stick Duff at left-back, Bassong into center midfield, push Guthrie out on the right and play Jonas up front with Owen.

That League Cup defeat under Souness against Wigan reserves will live long in the memory. One big fat zero from beginning to end.
Had almost forgotten that one. One the most embarrassing moments of the Souness regime, and there were quite a few but that Wigan game ranks right up there.

Nah, Souness in Lisbon was far worse because of the position we were in in that competition, plus the lack of quality left in the draw.
Plus you can't take it out of context like that. There was the Bowyer-Dyer thing, the FA Cup Semi and the Lisbon thing that all happened in the space of about 10 days.

It'd be much more useful to invent a backbone spray for refs and the authorities in general.
But then when a ref doesnt take the BS like this season in that ManCity game he seems to get slammed for wasting everyone's time.

Someone got it right the other day in saying Ameobi is probably better than Viduka at coming on during a game. At least it has seemed so lately. But from the start Viduka is still a quality asset.
Plus "play him every week"? Kind of thought that continues to make me want to puke.
