  1. Its what Sven did, but then again i do live next door to him. Not in January with the end of the window looming and three big games to prepare for he didn't. Sven's first signing was actually Bianchi. Whoops. A player Speccy reckons they made money on. Aye big whoops isn't it. And if you are happy to go into those games with tried failures in the middle then more fool you. Sorry, I thought we were trying to improve performance on the pitch between now and May, not sign with a view to making money in the summer. If we'd signed Bianchi tomorrow, in a few weeks we'd have been left with a £9m deficit, a dud unsettled striker and no guarantee whatsoever of making the money back. What happens in the summer would not be a lot of comfort at that stage.

Sven's first signing was actually Bianchi. Whoops. Wullster are you really opening up guns on Sven? Check the table mate. They're 7th and out of form. Great. I'm not "opening up guns" on anyone. I'm suggesting that our manager shouldn't start pissing money up the wall on random foreigners. Apologies if that doesn't appeal to the more hysterical of our support.

  4. That or the papers/players make it up. I know what my money's on.
  5. Elano's been average for the last three months too tbh. Not that he's not a very good player but if you're expecting the manager to be taking £10m risks on players from a sub-standard league on no evidence whatsoever when he's been in the job for a week, you're living on another planet imo.
  6. When you've got fuk all its worth taking a reasonable risk on someone, Barnes, Arshivan is a reasonable risk imo. Most of those duds have come as very good palyers who've done well in the league and look how that turned out. How is Arshavin or whatever his name is a "reasonable risk", can you explain that to me? Short of you being a *insert name of whoever the hell he plays for here* season ticket holder on the sly or at least having some sort of subscription to The Ruski Channel, I fail to see how you could possibly know that. Done well in Europe (nearly one in two in the Eufa cup) and NT level and has interested a lot of top clubs in Europe, some a lot bigger than ourselves, that's how its a reasonable risk. Every player is a risk FFS, surely a one with obvious talent isn't so much of one? So you need to attend 50 games to have an opinion on a player? You've just described Albert Luque there, you realise that? The UEFA Cup is fucking shit mate, you know that as well as I do. Until the quarters, you play teams from Israeli mountain villages. Let's say he turns out to be shit, hardly out of the realms of possibility, KK's spent £10m on him, do you think Ashley's going to be overjoyed when he comes for more money in four months and Keegan says "Sorry, but he looked good on a video"?

  8. Something is not necessarily better than nothing. You'd think all NUFC fans would have learned that after all the duds we've signed over the years who've ended up on massive contracts doing jack shit.
  9. Was just an example, but tbh, if he hasn't seen him play then he has no business in managing a premiership football club. I'm sure he knows who he is, he just doesn't want to take a chance, i think we should, it can't harm us much. Have a word man. If KK hasn't even requested a video of him then he's not the man for the job. We need attacking players, KK wants attacking football, he's one player everyone knows is available, if he hasn't watched him since become NUFC boss then he wants a kick up the arse. Requested a video of him? How does "everyone" know he's available? I've got news for you: not everyone frequents internet forums where people pretend to be experts about players from all over the world. 99% of Newcastle fans won't have ever heard his name. Keegan's been in the job a week and he's supposed to know enough to be prepared to spunk £10m or whatever on a Russian based on nowt but a video and the Sky Sports website bullshit mill? Seriously, has everyone on this forum lost their mind? Wow more than one line in a post from Wullie, have an aspirin and lie down it must of hurt. The lad himself has said he wants to 'move to England' so that's the player covered. His chairman has said he wants him to stay but cannot stop him and have actually 'handed over power of attorney so that we can let an English agency do the serious negotiations' These are actual quotes not shit made up btw, so the player is available, so get off your fuking high horse. One line? What on Earth are you gibbering about now? So KK should sign him because he's available? Glad we've cleared that up. Maybe we should get Luque back for another £10m, he's probably available too.

  12. I too am disappointed KK's not spent £10m on a Russian bloke he's probably never seen play.
  13. I think the sensible thing to do as fans is to assume that Ashley's picked him of a hat behind Keegan's back and start wringing our hands immediately.
  14. BBC will lick up Fergies arse no doubt again and sgow it on telly, even though he still refuses to do any interviews with them. Is that the way it works?
  15. Wise, Adams, Pearce !! What is this, a cockney love in ? Are our new owners determined to turn us into a pale imation chelsea or what. Of all horrible cock-er-nies Wise is the most cock-er-ney and the most horrible. I agree, we need to go back to basics and bring some fucking Geordies in, get some pride back. Someone get on the phone to Rob Lee, Warren Barton and Les Ferdinand quick!
  16. Does that mean if we play them enough times, we'll eventually beat them? Or at least get to sleep with Andie McDowell.
  17. The people doing the draw seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that we beat Arsenal: Bristol Rovers v Southampton Cardiff City v Wolves Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Liverpool v Barnsley Manchester United v Arsenal Preston v Portsmouth Coventry City v West Brom Chelsea v Huddersfield Town
  18. Would the likes of McClaren and Pearce accept a step back from top-level manager to assistant though? I've no idea. I was just bemused by the vitriol towards Pearce. Some people seem to think that the manager's assistant has to be Mourinho or Lippi. I think I'd just rather someone unproven than proven a failure, as such. It's all just a little underwhelming. Proven a failure like Carlos Quieroz at Real Madrid?

  20. If they're anything like the sources of people on here, it means the deal's definitely off.
  21. Who do you suggest Keegan brings in that he knows from abroad?
  22. Fail to see what would be wrong with Pearce. He'd be number two, not the manager ffs. I seem to remember a certain umbrella holding Mike Baldwin look-a-like being alongside Ferguson for a good long while and before him Brian Kidd wasn't exactly Brian Clough when he went to Blackburn either. Calm down with the hysteria.
  23. If Keegan's behind it, I'm behind it. Fuck it. NB: As long as Gus Poyet doesn't ever come within a million miles that is.
