  1. Bassong sent off for pulling back Heskey. Penalty as well. Day goes from bad to worse.
  2. Viduka has walked off - picked up a knock according to Radio Newcastle. Andy Carroll ready to come on. We are dropping like flies - no surprise at all.
  3. Dunno what it is about us, Boxing Day games and Ryan Taylor. Not good enough.
  4. Got to be looking for a striker who has the potential to improve himself by coming here, rather than a big name who will see us as an easy pay-day in return for little effort (Kluivert)
  5. Fair enough from him, but it suggests to me that he'll be leaving in the summer. Just hope that he stays fit until then and scores a few more goals to help us to safety. The future of the club is still very much in the balance, and that's not gonna help him decide to stay.

If money is the priority now, then why bother with the FA Cup at all? David v Goliath on David's home turf is what the magic is all about. It's what makes it the best cup competition in the world.

I'd sooner want to have a chance at winning the game, if I'm honest. Play at St James, and any chance is lost. In the event(!) that they actually beat Blackburn, it'd be something to look at if they got another home draw. This one should be played at Croft Park though.

Not sure, but I think they built the small stand with seats in, from the proceeds of the '78 run. Blyth should be allowed to enjoy their day in the sun and play at home. They've probably already made over £100-£150k from the cup run, with more to come. No sense in being greedy and losing any chance you have of beating Blackburn.

I think they would get close to filling the ground, why do you think they'd only get 20,000? Because it's not 1978. Football fans are a lot more fickle these days. Besides - it's what the FA Cup is all about. Playing a Premiership side on your home turf. Why change it just to try and make a few extra quid?

No way the Blackburn game should be played at SJP. Any chance Blyth would have would be lost in playing infront of 20k if they were lucky - no way there'd be a full house. Best chance Blyth have got of turning Blackburn over (and it's a small chance) is to play them at Croft Park.

Ahhhh Cambois, many a summer has been spent at the idyllic resort of Cambois. Cambois lad here - all my family is from there. Brilliant result for Spartans and fully deserved. Bring on Blackburn and the £250000 game!
  12. Looks bleak for us if we don't get a result at Pompey, tomorrow.
  13. I've always thought Taylor would be future captain material. However it's still too early for him - he has to earn that right. If he were to get it now, it would more than likely go to his head. Don't think we've had a real organiser/vocal captain since Barry Venison. Shearer led by example, but wasn't really a banger together of heads on the pitch.
  14. So that's 6 points that we've dropped under the reign of JK, due to goals in the last few minutes of games. Yesterday was probably the best example of the lot. First half - played really well and deserved a 2-0 lead. Second half we just never came out, allowed Stoke to dominate and they got the draw they probably deserved. For me the players look afraid when we go into the lead, and that fear has to come from somewhere. We had two good results on the road (draws at Chelsea and Boro) so confidence shouldn't have been rock bottom. So is JK instilling fear into the players, with being more concerned about not losing a game (which happened under Allardyce) rather than trying to win it first and foremost. Or is it a lack of fight and responsibility on the part of the players? A one off game, you can perhaps understand - but a worrying trend has been set of recent. And it's one that needs breaking, if we are to avoid the drop.
  15. Whikst Kinnear has to take a large share of the blame, the players also have to be held accountable. There seems to be a worrying lack of bottle and leadership throughout the side. As soon as things don't go our way - we fold like a pack of cards. I hope we'll be OK come the end of the season, but it's going to be tight - very tight.
  16. Seconded. The players look frightened when we go infront and that has to be down to the manager. A half-time lead seems to bring about panic throughout the side.
  17. Typical of us to blow it. Needs to be a major inquest after this. Well played Stoke for coming back into it, but if things don't improve for us - it's a relegation scrap (if it wasn't already)
