  1. Weird as fuck, just checked the news and it says he's applied himself  Why does this British guy check which jobs are vacant down in the Norwegian league system, this is not FM.

His agent will have been looking for vacant positions, most likely. Or maybe he watched Lange flate ballær and became convinced that the soul of football can only be found in Fredrikstad. My bet is on his agent.

  2. He's got a point. We all wanted rid of Pardew, but didn't expect to end up with Carver. The way Ashley works, he'd probably sell to one of his mates, just transfer the ownership of the club in return for a private loan.

  3. The black manager thing will never go away. It isn't an issue, no one (in this scenario) is going to say no to a person on their skin colour. You aren't going to appoint someone worse to look after your multimillion pound investment because of colour. You appoint the best person you can attract, the best fit, the most experienced or the cheapest, depending on your angle.

If this were true, no one ever would have appointed Souness or Pardew. They look at some extremely vaguely defined qualities of 'leadership' (a white man), 'tactical nous' (a white man) and Englishness (a white man), not anything genuine (difficult to define). It's extremely difficult to hire the right person, even more the right leader, so they go with their gut feeling, which is based on prejudice and usually wrong.

  4. Backed by Paddy Power. :anguish:

It'll just be a big PR campaign created by them.

    Some guy off Twitter:

Ginola asked about third party ownership and what he'd do with laws of football - @paddypower PR man intervenes as he stumbles.

  5. Just think about it. In the 90th minute of the FA Cup final, as it's heading towards extra time and penalties, Newcastle manager Shola Ameobi substitutes himself on for Jack Colback, and scores the winning goal with his first touch, the final touch of the game. Alan Shearer declares that even though it usually seemed ludicrous, he never gave up faith in the lad. The mackems are devastated.

Whatever happens from here feels distinctly like Pardew & #nufc is entering end game. More on Chronicle Live shortly.

Yes, the team sit a respectable 9th, won yesterday, 2 pts behind media darlings Swansea and and will in all likelihood beat Burnley at St James's the next day

"end game", indeed. "end game" my hole

I agree. This is more like Waiting for Godot than Endgame.
