It will be really interesting to see Amorim fight the fight protecting his way and style of play vs. media asking him every bloody week if he will chop and change it. I felt like Howe moved us to a 4-3-3 very quickly from w/e nonsense Bruce had us playing…but played solid defense > counter attacking football with some elements of pressing. Then that summer went to a high octane, high press style we know and love today. @KaKa Nope. Those 2 trophies and their current shit show wouldn’t ever feel great. Their rebuild job is harder than the one Eddie has been working with and I truly believe we’re more on the up than they are. They will also have the revenues but shifting that squad + the media scrutiny is tall order. Our squad is man for man better, and that includes the likes of the players we’re trying to shift off and the ones on the bench for us. Longstaff, Barnes, Willock, Miley…all could have done a better job for them than some of the shit I have some this season from them.

Finally, he brings on Mainoo and the match was more balanced for them; however, he took Cas off in the 2nd half for MORE attackers and they were overrun until the final whistle. I am so fucking proud to be a Newcastle supporter, man.

Would love to know more about the WHY Howe did it at some point, but i assume we will never get the very technical answer. I believe trust was certainly a factor. The 6 role in any team is massively difficult to get right and rushing it could have had adverse impact to the team. But in any case, my points stand - players make mistakes, he has all the tools to be a great interchanging 6 with Bruno but I am happy he looks very settled and comfortable in the role and long may it continue.
