gonna be a 2pm press conference on friday possibly 3 players signing....
IF this turns out to be UNtrue... BAAAAAANNNNNEEEEEDDDDDD FOR LIFE.
-
So far King Kev has seen us play 2 games, keeping one clean sheet and almost keeping another but for a wonder strike. I doubt signing defenders will be his priority.
I think a move for Van Buyten might be on the cards but strikers and midfielders will be at the forefront of his mind.
I think he is quite well aware of the 0-6 defeat against Manure, dont you think?

Dunne
Excellent player, take him over Campbell anyday.
Seconded.

Do any of you honestly think Berbatov is a realistic signing? If he leaves Spurs, it wont be to take a sideways step. He was a Shearer fan, not a Newcastle fan. He said he supported Blackburn when Shearer played for them.
Well. Shearer isn't dead, is he? He didn't sleep in a Shearer Newcastle shirt, he slept in a BERBATOV Newcastle shirt. Newcastle supporter.

Berbatov is too similar to Rooney and Tevez, what they'll be looking for is a centre-forward to play ahead of those two and not another creative forward so I can't see Man Utd being interested in him now. Chelsea would be the only English team I reckon would be interested in him, and us of course. Although we stand no chance and I personally hope we show our interest elsewhere. He's good but he's not world-class and not worth the money being mentioned. Anything with KK is possible though...
Besides, Chelsea just bought Anelka so I pretty much doubt they would want another striker. On the other hand its Chelsea we're talking about and they sort of buy anything on two legs..
£40m Eto in todays papers for them (if Drogba goes)
Ignore my previous comment then. And here I thought they actually bought Anelka as cover for Drogba. I must be stupid.

Don't know if posted but apparently Cox is joining the backroom staff.

Keegan: I wont have to spend a lot of money on a striker if Shola shows me what I know he can do.
-
A defensive midfielder, a ball playing centre back, and a younger, faster Viduka.
I'd put a need for creativity in midfield above those 3 positions, I'd say a centre back was the least of those priorities once the African players come back.

Now we've got a manager who the board look prepared to back I think we should be going after the likes of Sebastian "The next Zola" Giovinco. Creative midfielder. Young. Just starting to get first team football at the highest level in Italy. Would normally be out of our range as it'd cost a bomb to wrestle him away from Juve. Might be tempted by the prospect of first team football in the Premiership. (Do a search on that video sharing website.)
Or a Pasquale Foggia who is a little older than Giovinco, on the fringes of the national team. Looks a great player for mid-table Italian sides. Again very creative and someone who is only going to get better over the next 5 years.

Given
Beye Van Buyten Faye Bridge
SWP Mascherano Van Der Vaart Zoggy
Huntelaar Owen
For now
blueyes.gif
van Buyten, Deco and a defensive midfielder and we're ok until the summer. Then we're gonna talk business. :parky:
-
BOJAN FRED
JOAQUIN VAN DER VAART KAKA DIEGO
ENRIQUE VAN BUYTEN FAYE RICHARDS
KRUL
Krul? Not ready. Diego on the wing? Faye ahead of Richards in the centre of the defence? You're having a laugh. ...but i wouldn't mind the players in our squad though.

Zenit striker Andrei Arshavin has stated his preference in any transfer move would be a move to Goodison Park in order to prove himself in the Premier League.
Quoted on Russian website sport.ru the striker claims there has been interest from Spain as well as from Everton, but that if it came down to it, Everton would be his first choice.
We OBVIOUSLY haven't declared our interest yet then. :parky:
Didn't he say something like that about us not too long ago? Im sure he said something about us..
-
How did Owen celebrate the goal? Just smiling a little bit or actually screaming, running around like a rat on speed a'la the goal he scored agains Blackburn when Soumess was in charge?
-
hiidink would be an unbelievable appointment
the best in my opinion
i second that.. Or third, actually
-
Guus Hiddink.
aye aye capitan, Guus Hiddink to the steering wheel
-
Guus Hiddink.
-
Hiddink would have us playing the football we crave a brilliant manager
as i said linked this morning but cant see it happening
Sorry, once again, but where?
-
He isnt at Lyon now left in the summer after winning two French titles
That's correct. My mistake.
Alain Perrin or someone like that now, right?
Benitez would be awesome. Some spanish influences on the field. Viva Espana. .. No chance.

Houllier Shearer partnership mentioned this morning
Link? Source? Sauce?
in one of the papers i will try and find it now
I think that could work to be honest. Shearer is obviously quite attacking minded since he was a striker, while Houllier is more of a defensive minded manager based on his time at Liverpool. Cant say that i know much about the french league so I have no idea how Lyon is playing though.
Shearer manager, Houllier DoF?

Well, if Keegan is a man of his words, he'll have to bring some creativity in to this game. Bring Barton on and take Rozenhal off. For fuck sake. They're just giving the ball away.
