some of us have longer memories and do not see the previous player as the standard to be bettered, especially as there is a different manager and owner Fair enough, but would you agree that Viduka is a vast improvement on Sibierski? the phrase 'vast improvement' does a diservice to Sibierski and completely ignores massive flaws in Viduka you can't even say they are a direct replacement, Sibierski wasn't even a striker What massive flaws? Dod you ever see him before last season??

Here we go again: I've seen [X player/Y league] a hundred gazillion times, so i know i'm right. I never said that though, so don't misquote me. It was a general comment, put your handbag down, pet. Suggest you don't quote me when saying it then. Suggest all you like. Your post was typical of that kind of shite, so i used it to quote. Tough. Fucking clueless. Abuse disguised as a comment. Not a surprise, but welcome nonetheless. You haven't let me down, thank you.

And the season he scored 1 in 4? What about it? I reckon his most recent season is the best barometer to how well he is playing. Don't you? Only if you assume a player will do the same season after season, which is (A) wrong, and (B) dangerous.

Are you saying Kewell would be a better signing than Viduka, Vic? we should sign him aswell, can't you see he'd be a f****** STEAL!!?!?!?!!! To start with Vic he isn't on a free as he has another year left on his contract, he also plays in a position where we already have 2 players fighting for the same position that are better than him (In my opinion that is, maybe not yours as you seem to rate him quite highly) so there really wouldn't be much point. I only rate him because he's an Australian international So you're not basing it on his ability on the pitch or his goalscoring stats then? And you're not just basing his goalscoring in some hand-picked seasons, then?

Because some of us want THE RIGHT players, not just "better than the shit we have".

I'm not sure what you're basing the fact that Milner will be consistently better than SWP on, if you look back to the last time SWP had a consistent run in the team (which he'd have if he played for us) he was one of the best wingers in the league, people also seem to have a selective memory where Milner is concerned because up until he scored past Man Utd this season he was putting in some very average performances. Well even if you're right, even if SWP would become consistent... why bother blowing another £8/9/10m when we've already got someone in Milner; who, in a couple of years time, could even be a better player? Honestly just don't see the need to go splashing out on SWP. And btw, Milner was just alright up until Christmas. After the turn of the year, he was just about always our best player on the pitch. Because we improve the team now, I'm not suggesting we do a Roeder and blow all our money on a winger but if Ashley is putting significant funds into the club for transfers then SWP would be a big upgrade on Milner. Milner will never be up to the level that SWP could be for us IMO, his restrictions are there for all to see. As are SWP's. What are you basing his greatness on, because for the majority if games i saw him play in his time at Chelsea, he was poor. When SWP has had a consistent run in the team his ability is far better than anything Milner can produce, Milner is slow, poor control/passing and crossing ability, his lack of pace is what holds him back the most and it's something he'll never improve on. Swp can beat a man with ease and make something happen because his pace frightens players, he's also a much better finisher than Milner. Why don't you tell me whats so great about Milner compared to SWP then, NM. Well, SWP hasn't shown much of being able ot go past a man for me, and his crossing is as bad as Dyer's. He can run fast, but as we've seen with Dyer, thats enough to make some people think he's a good player. His finishing is not exactly top class, either. Having said that, i've not seen him play as much as you, clearly. You must watch a lot of non-NUFC football, to know so much.

What do you think? That he's over-rated, and as likely to do f*** all as score loads of goals. So you accept that this free signing might score "loads of goals" Now give your reasons why this proven target man shouldn't have been snapped up on a free to be one of our strike options. his wages his injury record his age his availability re. internationals his questionable motives his attitude around the squad his fat pig resembling ugly c*** of a face . So what you would prefer is a non-international, on poor wages, with no injury record, a lovely demeanour and nice face? Ziggy from Big Brother seems to fit your profile. Is that who you had in mind? you're having a laugh now, 'he must be good, he's an AUSTRALIAN international' fucksake You're being harsh. Moore was their captain, and he had pace, awareness, ability and strength.

He might also score 3. Why he shouldn't be "snapped up"? Because i want us to be a top 7 team. Who would you have preferred us to sign instead of Viduka? Ah, that old chestnut. Nice try, but i don't think thats the point, is it? If we are happy consilidating a mid table position, i applaud FHSA's vision. What old chestnut? I was simply asking who you would have referred to sign instead of Viduka since you seem so against his signing. Although it doesn't surprise me that you avoided giving an answer. I would have liked us to sign a player who has proven more consistently to be a good goalscorer, who has not shown on many occasions that he is a lazy twat, and who was good enough for where we want to be. THATS who i wanted. Not my job to find the cunts, unless i got a new job that no-one told me about.

What about all the poor performances SWP has put in for Chelsea? Do his fanboys forget about them, just because he runs fast? Thats the same rationale that has idiots believing Dire is a top player.

Hopefully we can chant "easeh, easeh", like a big bunch of nobs, from now on. Or, even better, keep singing the worst line ever, about being the loyalest football supporters.

Milner is utter s****. Nice lad, works hard, but wingers have to have pace, a trick, beat the full back and put a cross in. Milner can do none of these things consistently and should be flogged to Wigan or Stoke immediately. Figo hasn't had pace for the last 5 years, still best winger in the world in that period Are you seriously comparing Figo to Milner? And when did Figo last play as an out and out wide man? Laughable. Milner's a Championship player, it makes me goggle at the praise he get for....er....running up and down the line and trying. Admirable, but from a club who had Waddle on the wing while shite 25 years ago in div 2 it astounds me that people seriously watch Milner and say he's 'top class' or ' a quality winger'. He's like Lee Hendrie, game, hard working but poor. People like him because he's young and they somehow think that in 5 years he's going to turn into Garrincha. He's not...he's just an average/below par Prem footballer. Nowt more, nowt less. And SWP? Rarely able to get past his man, crosses like Dyer. He's fucking great.

And Roeder will still be here at the start of the season. Etc etc.

I agree that the midfield doesn't have a bone cruncher but they can still tackle. Remember that we'll be playing the mackems, Boro, Wigan, Man City etc, keep those teams under pressure and they'll buckle. You know thats not going to work. You don't protect your defence, you get violated.

Better than Dyer or Duff on the left? So is my great gran, and she's been dead for 16 years. Not sure the point you're maing really, as I would have though improving the squad would be a positive. He's arguably better than Milner as well, to be fair. Milner's very good, but I think he'll always lack the pace to be a truly terrifying winger. The point i was making was that being better than Dyer or Duff on the left was no big deal, we already have players who are that. As for being better than Milner, i haven't seen anything to indicate THAT, but let me guess, you've seen him play 79 times this season, so know that to be the case. I never said the left, I said out wide, which can be the right as well. Seen plenty of Wright-Phillips yourself then or is that only relevant when I'm making judgements on a player, and not when you're doing so? "I haven't seen anything to indicate THAT". Like i said.
-
Two things, first is I've been drinking so have an excuse, second, I'd like to see them push further up so the centre halves would be closer to the midfield. They still need protection, Kevin.
-
That midfield would be more than good enough against 80% of the teams we'll play against next season. We really need to get the middle of the defence sorted so that when we are put under pressure we have the confidence to live with it. The squad needs numbers who are capable of doing a job and we also need players who can come in when we're playing teams who are not in the 80% mentioned earlier, when we need to add grit and battle it out. If we are going to invest £250 million over 5 years then we should spend more now then reduce it as time goes on, we shouldn't need to spend as much during year 5 as we do during year 1. Your midfield lacks the ability to stop the other team, in my opinion.

Not Milner. The highpoint of our season. Other than getting rid of that cunt Roeder. And then Shambles going. They were important moments too.
