Well, I think it's very sad that him and his agent have been killed in a drunken car crash.

And the political correctness brigade can take that in the eye.

Fuck, I thought it was suncream!

Him and his agent are more likely to get pissed up and be killed in a car crash than the kid becoming a superstar.....thats the vibe they give out...IMHO

I am going to go out on a limb and say you've only become aware of the player since we were linked to him in January, and you've probably watched under an hour of footage of him playing football. You literally know fuck all about either he or his agent in reality, and you are basing your entire view on minimal journalistic and social media snippets.

The reality is that you're annoyed that he's probably not signing and you're saying needlessly offensive and wild shit to get yourself over it. "The vibe they give off" ffs. There's no PC brigade, just a bunch of decent people who call out twattery and stupid behaviour because it's as unwelcome here as it is in wider society. You're also being called out because the post demonstrated the intelligence of a plant pot.

Honestly, I don't understand how he hasn't been snapped up yet. It's a ridiculous price for a 25 year old with his experience and versatility.

The guy was productive on that right side at a very high level and could slot in there for us. Could also cover on the left and upfront if needed. If we ever switch to a 3 at the back against certain opposition, he would also be ideal as a left wing back.

Someone is going to get a great deal with him.

Imagine because clubs know Burnley are desperate to sell any player of value so they’ll bide their time until Burnley have to accept a lower bid.

To be clear I rate him and think he’d be useful back up to wilson and wide forward option. Doesn’t massively move the needle but improves things overall.

  4. Would assume it’s because buying teams know none of those players have a future so will wait until it’s obvious we’re desperate to bin off. Can’t wait for Hendrick to go, more than any of them he winds me up no end. Just no business poisoning the PL well, invertebrate Guinness ponce

  5. I would actually take a cheap punt on Dele and see if a manager like Howe could reform him / get him back to where he was. Depends on his mindset, but consecutive mourinho and Lampard is a tough spot. Totally open to being wrong and him just having a shit attitude, but low risk high reward kind of thing if you got him on the cheap or an incentivised deal.

Good is no longer the benchmark. He's earned the right to be a contributor, if he wants to keep his place in the first XI and keep up with our ambitions he needs to demonstrate excellent form on a consistent basis.

For me, his limitations are going to limit our potential as a team and he will need to be upgraded. But it doesn't necessarily need to be in this window, especially if we sign a young prospect in CM to gradually bed in over time.

I disagree re: benchmark comment, because applying that logic consistently we’d field a team of about 5 players. However, I agree with the sentiment, and if anything I think we will see an overall increase of the benchmark standard due to Howe’s coaching, squad competition, squad harmony and collective belief and optimism.

Shelvey absolutely has limits but so do all but a small handful of our players.

I'm just concerned that he's never shown any level of consistency through his entire career.

He has though. He was consistently reliable last year, in Rafa’s 2nd and 3rd years and in the first Bruce year.

  8. Fuck my life does anyone think they’d actually put this up publicly if there was any prospect of it not happening from here?

    Onwards and upwards!

  9. Literally none of us know what's actually going on. If he signs, great, because the fact knowledgeable people have identified him suggests he will be useful. If he doesn't sign, then we will probably get someone else who is good too. It genuinely doesn't matter.
