Their defensive set up is clever. They go to a diamond 4 to make sure we can’t pass it around through the middle and have to go long, or wider earlier than we want.

Why?

The point I’m trying to make is you’re condescending people, deliberately winding them up and dismissing their opinions, personal traumas and fears at the state of the country like it’s some sort of sport, which is conduct indicative of, and commonplace amongst, those of the far right. Your belittling of the poster with a very recent experience of drink-driving related trauma was callous and really misconceived, I think you’d do well to apologise and think about the fact you need to coexist in this space with others.

You’re free to answer the allegation, or to explain yourself.

Not in this case, in my view.

Oh - I thought he is Brazilian!! My mistake. Basically trying to out him as the fascist he’s coming across as.
-
To raise awareness? To find like-minded people who are concerned? To discuss it in a group to see how others are dealing with it? To test whether your opinions and feelings are shared in common? To seek comfort in knowing that others also find it hard?
-
Out of interest, and entirely unrelated of course, what was your view on Bolsonaro’s people storming government and court buildings?
-
Genuinely the normal defence that Tories run on a daily basis

Who do you think is offering to buy our deadwood and take on their wages, out of interest?

For sure, and he’ll be punished. But my point is before everyone starts saying what a terrible human being he is and how he should be put in a kennel wearing nothing but a torn kilt while everyone throws rocks at him, sometimes it’s useful to provide some context (or, in this case, hypothetical context). He has made a mistake. It may be a slight mistake or a big mistake depending on circumstances that we don’t know. It’s just tiresome that we always have to have the conclusion and judgment like a downloadable iTunes song in 30 seconds. I’ll support him because I don’t think he’s a bad person. Im biased because he’s a Newcastle player.

You say that, but he might actually not know the law as someone who is not from here. I’ve no idea if it’s something the club educates the players in but it’s not like it’s plastered across adverts or anything. It’s very feasible that he thought he wasn’t over the limit (he may also have known he wasn’t, but we don’t know). I lived in Singapore for 3 years (approx same time as he’s been in England) and I couldn’t tell you what their drink drive limit is (assume it’s 0 knowing their deterrent system).

Just par for the course in social media reality. Everything can only be incredible or appalling. Nuance is poison because it requires active and conscious thinking.

@Manxstbeat me to it basically

The life-risking stuff is a bit OTT until we know that he was genuinely impaired. There can be a difference between what your body is perfectly able to do with a certain amount in your system vs the point at which the law (necessarily) draws a mathematical line. The stupidity is, absent further information, needlessly attracting negative headlines. It’s not beyond the realm of reason that he thought, for example, 3 beers is fine to drive on. None of us know what he knows or what his physical reactions to different quantities of alcohol are. I expect he’ll miss a match and get fined if Howe is of the view that he knew, or should have known, better and that will be case closed in public.
-
imagine that’s where he’ll land

Depends on how over limit. Best he can hope for for a little bit over is fine and ban, yeh.

Underappreciated wordplay there

Has Mitrovic been up to SJP since he left? I can't remember the other times they polluted the division whether he was injured / suspended. Hope people don't go in on him, he was always extremely complimentary about the club, fans and area.
-
Be a good watch, they’re a good team and in form. Last time against them we benefited from an (entirely correct) red card and no Palhinha or Mitrovic, so should be competitive. Agree with the post above that they’re more likely to come at us. We’ve got to be more clinical than we have of late. Hopefully no wood or Murphy polluting the occasion.

That was a beautiful moment, really wish I’d been there.
