Think he’s off so no longer considered part of the plans. -
Quite the turnaround to a love-in for Luke.

When I lived in Singapore it was a similarly cheap deal for all games. UK is so behind in so many ways, this is just another one of them. Such a binbag nation. -

I think this is an example of stats being misleading. The two wins were against sides that you'd now say are underperforming this season, and the loss should have been a draw but for pretty gak refereeing. The two draws are about right I think. I'd snap anyone's hands off for a point tonight. I don't fear them but I respect the fact that they're winning the league on pure merit. -
Never really got going in a Newcastle shirt. Feels a bit disappointing as he made some useful contributions last year, especially once we started picking up wins in and after January. He’s still a good player in my view. Will always be fond of him for calling Bruce out for what he was.
-
This was my gripe - he absolutely fell for their very basic gameplan. Once they realised it they went back to it over and over, just seemed to get lost in the plucky underdog narrative. Did nothing about the blatant timewasting, cynical fouling, diving and feigning injury. I’d hope we put a complaint in.

I find it really strange as well - worry about some on here when we have an inevitable bad run. Everything is so binary and anti-nuance in the social media age.
-
I mean we’re like almost 6 months into a season and he’s been a deserving regular in one of the best teams in the Premier League, so it’s just an anti-factual statement to make. It’s fair enough to be disappointed after today but I think your argument isn’t remotely persuasive.

Poor match today, shame as he’s been great recently. Everyone’s entitled to a few.
-
Hopefully his last season of getting significant game time. Nice bloke, works hard, just never looks like scoring and you can’t carry that kind of passenger if you’ve got ambition.
-
I’ve had my fill of Chris Wood for a while. Yes, it’s lovely that he can play his role in team defence but you just can’t waste those opportunities. He never looks like scoring unless it’s a penalty.
-
I thought the referee bought their snide gameplan, let them dive, foul, waste time and fake injury the whole game. Lost control and rightly so, I’d like to see a complaint in for that. We were wasteful as well. Longstaff needs dropping after that, he was really poor today.
-
If they drop this season they lose Rice for way less than inflated market value, which in turn probably gives Moyes a lot shorter of a leash than he deserves for, in my view, getting a hell of a lot out of an ok-good squad over the last 2-3 years. As a total outsider it has an end of lifecycle feel.

Newcastle United vs. Leeds United - 31/12/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

What does he say that’s incorrect? In European football, the teams with the most money do tend to win the most silverware. American sports which have salary caps and a draft system means that more teams win the trophies - there’s much more variety of winner. You’re right that baseball doesn’t have a salary cap, but it at least has a tax penalty for those going over limits - but certainly Yankees, dodgers and Mets are spending a lot more than than other franchises (but not winning year in, year out). He says that Eddie Howe has done a great job but that we can’t ignore the fact we’ve spent quite a lot of money, which we have. I’m not sure what bit you can realistically take issue with, if I’m honest. -

I don’t think he said anything out of line or inaccurate. I liked his comparison point with US sports; he’s right. It’s more egalitarian. -

Re: Shelvey I don’t think we know if it’s 3 starts or 3 appearances. If the latter he’s made 3 appearances, but Hope will likely know more than us. -
My mum is pretty in on Spurs - she wrote their recent history book and a screenplay about them, and has a free season ticket in a box - and she is saying he’s a cokehead.

Bloke must give a fucking great interview.
-
It reminded me of the Everton game at home this season, we were comfortable without getting out of second gear.
-
“Scraped through” according to impartial Leeds man Michael Brown for the BBC. Dipshit

You’d hope we complain about this refereeing team, made 2 massively incorrect calls which could have fucked us.
-
For me the question is do we buy a creative door unlocking player, or do we think we have that player on our books already?
-
The 2 matches against these raises an interesting point for me, which I didn’t think we’d have to deal with a few years yet: what do we do when teams just park the bus?
