Awful opening from us though.
-
Luna-cy not shooting there.
-
Only been in four minutes but we've lost the ball four times trying to go forward in straight lines as quickly as possible. Pass sideways once in a while ffs!
-
Need to take the sting out of this, for a bit. Just keep possession.
-
HBA's going to the World Cup [shame the French co-managers Nasri/Benzema will only give him 10 minutes at the end of one group game, though]
-
Think it's quite obvious Villa are better suited to those quick passing moves on the counter-attack - which is what we've ended up doing. Good work so far. Be surprised if Lambert doesn't change things up at half-time, and invite us on to them a bit more.
-
Stroke of genius from Pardew, if only we'd thought about it sooner. That's why he's manager, and we're just fans with unrealistic expectations.
-
Agree with the exception of Cisse who hasn't imposed himself on the game (/for a while). Would rather have Gouffran over him atm.
-
No point he cant see you as He's got his eyes closed, dick in between his laptop thinking about Maria. Eveything feels like Maria. I quite like the comic strip, tbh.
-
Unlucky from Cabaye. Entitled to go for that from where he was.
-
Aye. Don't think Krul did that bad considering.
-
Good move from Villa.
-
Villa really getting in our faces.
-
Proper scrappy phase of play this.

No need to pass to Hernandez at a more unfavourable angle, there.
-
Which weirdly is the position he wants to play. Odd when he's such a threat in behind the striker imo. Yeah I read those quotes earlier today. He's competing against much weaker opposition to start there, then up front or in a more advanced role though.
-
Good'un. Keeping seems a bit suspect though - not that much pace on it.
-
Fellaini's best attributes are wasted in the Scott-Parker-do-nothing role.
-
Sunday League from Rooney, there.
-
Strong team on the face of it. Be interesting to see how close HBA and Remy are to Cisse once they get out there.
