  1. Too used to hoofing it. Forgot it was penalties.
  2. There's no one I wanted to miss more.
  3. Quite a low fee given Everton's sell-on clause and our ability to deploy funds, but time to move on for all parties I suppose. He has been bizarrely hated by his own fans for some time now. His statistical productivity has never been high, but he's (IMO) always worked hard in the style of play that Howe wanted out of him. Pressing hard* and trying to force mistakes, even if he wasn't the beneficiary. He has displayed sangfroid and temperament on big penalties, he stepped up to play centrally when we had no one - and showed a fair bit of promise. His ball-tracking for crosses needed work for sure, but his movement and runs in behind were terrific. He didn't play in the final but he deserves enormous, enormous credit for the semi-final victories over Arsenal in the League Cup win. Hope he smashes it in Barca... right into Yamal's annoying little face. But I do also hope he does well there. * - link is from 24-25 season not 25-26, but using the eye test, I didn't see a massive drop off
  4. Well, I appreciate the first part Gol. I'll leave you to it and hope I'm wrong again.

I counted one touch. Bounced off his shin with his back to goal. Started with much less goodwill in the bank after his carry on with Brentford (and the contemporaneous experience with Isak downing tools).
  6. Agreed. Last two wins have really been lipstick on a pig IMO. Goals change games etc but I've seen too much of this side to believe in my heart that was the reason. Botman and Callum Wilson going stride for stride. Bruno and Willock having a tiff. All is not well. If I was a betting man, I reckon Newcastle will be closer to a Spursy season next year than pushing for Europe. Thank goodness for Will Osula.
  7. West Ham are baaad. Champions League group stage bad. The Spurs Relegation ambition is over. Nice for Woltemade and Osula to get on the scoresheet though.
  8. Only £65m. (plus $Fort Knox per week in wages)
  9. Anyway, forget football. It's almost universally rotten at this point.
  10. I specifically told him to get in touch with you, so this is a premeditated snub. Just FYI.
  11. Want to be kind as they're in heady territory and now hrutign but Hearts handled this occasion so poorly. Poor fuckers. Absolutely robbed by the Motherwell decision, but they had a job to do - and they were allergic to passing. Just long ball after long ball.
  12. That's old news, baby. We scored and won vs Brighton - the curse is over!
  13. Felt like Hearts are playing for an almighty sucker punch here.
  14. This is it for me. Excellent manager tbh.
  15. It's clear and obvious to everyone what happened
  16. Motherwell have been so much better. Just always taking a touch too many instead of shooting. Annoying.
  17. Haven't Hearts fallen behind in the last umpteen games Fair point though.
  18. Also I reckon they're more resting some of them for Bournemouth on Tuesday rather than the Cup!
  19. Their weakened team is still stacked. It's a daft narrative IMO.
  20. That ship has sailed. They swept Newcastle this year. They can pay higher wages and offer "London" to those who care about such things. They might have been shite on the pitch for a while, but they were an Arsenal gazumping away from having Eze last year too.
  21. Ramsdale Trippier Lascelles Botman Burn Murphy Krafth Willock Park Wissa Pope
  22. He said as much a few weeks back, but it remains self evident - he doesn't know what the problem is, much less how to fix it. A very ugly season will follow IMO.
  23. Awful from Botman. We've conceded so many goals this year trying to shield strikers rather than dealing with the ball. Fucking never learn.
