  1.

Look at the Smith signing thread, there weren't many happy faces around in there IIRC.

Linked to the oldest two I could find with "Alan Smith" in the subject, if you can supply me a different link though I'll have a butchers and accept peoples disgust.

It's only Geremi who's truly dissappointed me o0n the pitch from Sam's signings though.

What about Viduka and Smith? Barton? Oh come on...

Only Smith has played enough games to make a judgement out of those (though some of viuduka's touches have been class when he has had the ball at his feet).  Smith hasn't been great, but he's had a few canny games, Geremi has been godawful since the opening day of the season though.

So, why do you mention the new singnings then? Only Smith and Geremi are signings? Then it is easy to say that only one (of two signings) has been wrong... Wait for the prove of the others. :-)

  3. He's benefit by becoming a good player in the eyes of many by not playing while the team's been struggling imo.

Absolutely, similar thing happens with Harper imo too.

    ???

People think he's better than he is when he doesn't play. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

    Still ???

  4. Laughable myth that he's a creative player.

He is. He showed it for Turkey (and Inter) several times. It is SA who's not able to get the best out of him (or the system he plays). He's not a pure playmaker, but he would be more creative in any other team under another manager, i'd say.

Lets not put that one onto Allardyce alone - Souness and Roeder have also failed to get the best out Emre.

Was he not supposed to be known as the 'Turkish David Beckham'???

Perhaps he deserves more chances than he's had under Allardyce (so far), but two previous managers have also failed to get consistent performances from the 'lil turk!

Didn't say it was only under SA. Same thing with Souness and Roeder. Thats the saddest fact, because people thought SA should be a better manager... :-(

  6. Far too early to judge after injury, simple as that.

And when do you think that time has come? In four years time? Everyone says that Martins i cack, but it is beyond me, what MO has done for the goods of this club. Marcelino was called a mercenary? That was probably because he is spanish?!?!? Anyway, I still hope we'll get rid of him.

  7. I have the feeling that SA will sign somebody who lacks creativity again... He just loves his team to battle instead of play. And he always mentions the fighting spirit after a good result. Fighting spirit will help you to finish midtable, but never in the top six! I fear that SA will buy a team of battlers and will miss out (or don't even try) on creative players.

Slightly unfare - he did sign Okocha and Anelka at Bolton - both were/are technically sound players.

However, I would agree that he needs to be looking at a similar type of player for our central midfield, if as it seems, he isn't impressed with Emre as a creative player.

I thought perhaps James Troisi may have got some bench time this season after seeming to impress in the pre-season friendlies.

Quite impressed by Lua Lua's cameo last night though.

Agree about Anelka and Okocha, but I don't think he has these kind of players in sight for NUFC. This time he has got players with a bigger potential (when he took over) but blatantly less motivation?!?!?! Don't think he's up for that yet...

  8. we have to start cashing in on our s*** players (ie 85% of the squad). I would welcome selling Emre, Martins and whoever else if we were to buy better players in the summer.

And who would that be? Given the fact that SA only likes battlers? Nolan and Crouch?

  10. How do we know though until he plays EVERYONE in the correct f****** position?!

He has his reasons for doing that though!!! We might not know these reasons, but I'm sure he's not playing players out of position because he has an agenda to make us fail!!!

We may not agree with these reasons, but we should just let him f****** get on with it and see where that takes us.

Give him time? But, hell, I can't see ANY improvement so far! Tell me...

    down? :-)

  12. We'll win, and it'll be seen as vindication of Fat Sam and his under-skilled bunch of sports monkeys. Then we'll play a decent team, be s****, and the fanboys will make f****** stupid excuses for him. We stay mid table fodder, the world keeps turning, and other fans get to continue mocking us.

Would love to disagree, but can't... Spot on! :-(

  13. Why does everyone want owen out. The money's been paid, he says he's commited. Why on earth should we go -7m. The lads mustard.

Because he's played 20 league games & only scored 9 league goals in two & half years.

True, but he missed around 50 of his first 76 league games to genuine long-term injuries.

Was this meant to be an excuse. Didn't count when it came to Marcelino and Baba?!?¨:-)
