  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2275183/Cheick-Tiote-set-return-Newcastle.html

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is due to make his Premier League return at White Hart Lane on Saturday, thanks to a brief playing comeback by former England international Steve Stone.

The Ivory Coast international is back prematurely from the Africa Cup of Nations and manager Alan Pardew is ready to throw him straight into Newcastle’s new-look team at Spurs.

But with so many players away on international duty this week, Pardew admitted Stone had to get his boots back on to help out on the training ground.

The Newcastle boss said: 'Cheick has trained today (Thursday) and reminded a few that he has been missing.

'Stoney had to join in because we did not have enough bodies and he had to keep our of the way of Cheick a few times, trust me.

'It is brilliant to have him back. I still think he is one of our best players. This year has been difficult for him to build on last year career-wise but he is certainly one of our top three players and hopefully, he can get back to that level he was at when he was absolutely phenomenal last year.'

    :snod:

  2. £103m seems ridiculous and of course there will be ways around it, it always will, but is the best way to just ignore it? It would be like stop taking doping controls because there will always be cheaters that comes up with new ways.

It´s the right, and only way to go, but as always it´s ridiculously limits.

  3. Yet Llambias warned bringing in players from France could prove trickier in the future.

He quipped: “It is getting harder for us in France. One president of a club said: ‘What are you doing with all the French players?’

“I said: ‘Eventually the national team will just send their plane to Newcastle and collect them from here!’

“He laughed – while he was twisting my arm for more money!”

  4. Italy was really crap and Santon didn´t get a single ball from his team mates while he as usually was a bit shaky in the defense. So it was ok, hard to judge him to much and hopefully he gets more chances. But I think he will be happy to come home :)

  5. In the l'Equipe interview , Sissoko said that when he arrived Pardew told him that he'll be playing as a number 10 for the next two games...why only 2 games ? Is he planning to put someone else in that position ? Ben arfa maybe ? I guess that could make sense , cause ther is no way Guti is leaving the starting XI , so it's the only option to fit both Sissoko an Ben Arfa in that team ..

Because the Villa and the Chelsea game came fairly close to each other and Pardew wouldn't want to change things too drastically from one to the other. The fact that he said he was to play as a #10 in those two games doesn't mean he won't stay there after them.

Please don´t movie him he´s perfect for that role. I think Ben Arfa should take a wing position, that is were he is best anyway.

  6. Exactly. I´ve never understand why we can´t take the game to the opponent like we have done in the last two games (look at the result). So do what fools did, take the game to them, and go for the win. We have absolutly nothing to lose, 3 points/1 points/0 points, who cares? It´s Spurs that can´t afford to lose, so we will have a great opportunity if we just go for it. But I´m not to worried. Sissoko will never sit back

  7. Basically the entire season he has been the only reason for me to watch games so it will be fantastic to see him back - probably against Saints. But it will be weird to see him back now too because with the way we have been playing and with Sissoko were is he going to fit and how are he going to play, talk about a luxury problem

Anyway. For me Sissoko has to stay were he is, he is fantastic there, and Ben Arfa has to take a place at the wing, RW for me. But with Gouffrans, Sissokos, Cisses and Cabayes fantastic understanding there will be just a fanstisic movement between them.

    Cissé

    Gouffran Sissoko Ben Arfa

    Cabaye Anita/Titoé

has to be the team against Southampton  :D

  8. He's in Stockholm :smitten:

    :rose:

Going to the game on Wednesday.  :aww:

Jealous. Completely sold out now, really wish I had got my self a ticket. Have you been to Friends before?

No I haven't, really looking forward to seeing it. And Colo. And Messi. And Zlatan. How about yourself? AIK to play there from June..?

High expectations, a proper stadium and match day experience is long overdue in this country, the derbies between DIF and AIK are the only ones remotely enjoyable otherwise.

No, I haven't been yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Was absolutely sick of going to Råsunda last season, almost to the point where I couldn't be bothered going to some games (I still went, mind). Going to be so great being able to get a proper beer at half time and to not freeze to death during the early and later parts of the season :) How can you have missed that we've played our last game at Råsunda? It was all over the media towards the end of the campaign, I bet even people that don't know a thing about football here knows that

Råsunda was the least inspiring stadium in Europe, I actually knew that. Was thinking about Djurgården (I'm supposedly supporting them) moving to Tele2.

I'm ashamed of how little attention I pay to Swedish football. I try so hard every year but my attention just fades away after three games when Gefle have beaten everyone 1-0. Hopefully the reasonable success you lot and Helsingborg had in Europe instigates some sort of resurrection. You could have done with Bangura back mind.

Yeah, Råsunda was horrible. No atmosphere, grey, boring, ugly. Being from Solna, I'm well happy that we're finally getting rid of it.

I'm the same as you with Swedish football really. I support AIK and go and see them, but I don't watch anything else.

EDIT: Sorry for going off topic here, lads.

    :huff:

  9. Just seen some highlights from the game with a french commentator  You could think he was someone from here the way he was commentating, especially everything Sissoko did, I can understand why everyone love us there  :aww:

  10. He also needs to be used in fewer games. No point whatsoever in him playing against the likes of Fulham and Soton at home. Benefits nobody but the opposition.

Southampton probably not the best example.

He's been really, really poor this season and for a fair bit before then too. I'm not overly eager to see him back in the team ahead of people like Anita and Marveaux who have played well this season.

It has not only been him, but the entire team, has been poor for long stints this season. He should no doubt be in the team.
