  1. what I mean is that Cabaye is a very important play for a team with his offensive play. But unlike Tioté he really can´t control a midfield and set the tempo. That is a big weakness for me. When he is the "main man" he more than often let us down and disappear.

With Tiote he is, when on form (and is playing further up), a brilliant player. Without him we, and him, struggles big time.

  2. I have said it before and is saying it again. I´m not that sold with Pardew as a coach. Yes he has exceeded the expectations by far. But after a so good year as the last one this was the season to build on that. Yes Ashley hasn´t made it easy. But to have been here almost 2 years we are still struggling to have a good offensive and we are pathetically bad a set pieces.

He talks a lot about "play it at the deck" and "control the game". I don´t think he has that in him to teach. That and that he seems to have some weird ideas about formations and personnel.

So far this season. The quality of our first team has definitely saved us.

  3. I think Tiote is a more important player for us in that he is better to dominate a midfield and is better to control the tempo in a game. Cabaye is needed for his offensive play and is, on his day, a very good footballer. But when is the main star in a team I think he struggles.

  4. I wonder what's happened to his shooting, I remember how he'd hit ridiculous volleys on target all the time in his first few games here, now I don't think he's gotten a single shot on target from open play this season.

His just so out of shap it´s not even funny.

Then I want to say something that will make 90 % of all people here go crazy, and that is that I think Cabaye is  over hyped. If he is the player he is supposed to be he just don´t disappear from games like he does.

When he is in form he is a great players. But I think he luck the ability to control the midfield and a game. Maybe that has something to do with him playing far to deep. But as a star player in our team. It´s just not ok the start he has had to this season.

If we had some sort of a squad he should definitely be dropped. But we don´t.

  5. Fans pretty much gave up on him after 5 games. Been fighting a losing battle since. A pity, as the talent is there but there is no way he will build up any confidence at this club now as fans just jump on his back after any perceived mistake, even if the movement of the forwards is largely to blame for a significant amount of his crosses that don't find a player.

  6. Someone has to say it. Stoke seems to be a stronger team than last year.

Drawing is the new winning

You can say what you want about them. But they seems really hard to beat.

arent they on one of the worst winless streaks in europe?

11 games without a win in all comps.

    1 win in their last 17 :thup::thup:

Arsenal, City and now maybe Chelsea is pretty good though. How they manage against the rest of the teams I don´t care about.

  7. First must win game of the season imo.

    :nope: was Villa.

 don't be daft. We're on a canny little unbeaten run, it's unrealistic to expect us to win every single last home game. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way on the day (TV Burp Poetry Coooorrrrnnnnneeeerrrrr) and you play poorly and get a point from it.

We should be winning this but a draw or a defeat whilst irritating wouldn't be the end of the world, at all.

And what is the different between this game and that game? Two bad teams at home.

  8. Anyone know when Colo is due back?

    From today's Chronicle:

"Pardew is hoping that Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and possibly Tim Krul – linked with a move to Barcelona yesterday by the London media – are back after the visit of Norwich City with games against Man United in the League Cup and a trip to Reading to come hot on the heels of this week’s packed fixture list."

:dowie: and here we go again.
