F*cking hell, was so excited for the new season a couple of weeks ago, but this news and the shoddy transfer movement has left me pretty subdued.
-
To not buy any player is a disgrace in it´s self. But then to not loan any player in areas we are absolutely desperate in is just
-
my God. he did alrigth. but no better the others. the differense is that he is in the first team=(
he is just so avarage. no better then raylor, willo etc.

Looking forward to biggi and Marv.

I get the feeling that Liverpool will accept West Ham's offer again, and tell Andy it's there or nowhere.
Haven't West Ham admitted they can't do that deal anymore since they've done other business now? Think we're their only hope. How ironic
Especially since they already admitted that if they done that deal they would have blown there economy for years to come

I was 5ft 6 til I was 18 now I'm 6ft 2, so there's pleanty of time yet.
I was 5ft 6 when I was 18, now I´m still 5ft 6...

That may be the case. But I have never heard of an athlete that don´t want to improve. And if there is. They can f*** off from the professional world.
The club isn't an athlete, it's a business. And the athletes that do improve enough, well, they go to the clubs with the cash i.e. Man U, City and Chelsea
fair enough. Bad example. But your right. Why bother to improve since it´s no idea.

I may be in the minority here but I actually think it's harder to crack the top four this year than last. Man City/Man Utd/Chelsea spent ridiculous money. Arsenal will still be there, Spurs still there. Liverpool to look out for. I don't think we're two signings away from the CL, I think we're quite a distance away.
Chelsea finishing 5th then winning the CL and blowing £100m f***ed our chances, really.
And we attempt to combat this by... doing nothing?
Well we don't have the £110m it'd take to catch Chelsea. We go with the team who served us so well last year plus some upgrades on the departures...bar Best (who barely played)
Yeah, just the 21 appearances last year for Leon Best.
How many after Cissé signed? His role became less and less in the second half of the season. He was technically replaced in January
It's highly likely that either Ba or Cisse will be injured at one point during the season. As it stands their deputy is Shola and him alone. Best had a reasonable goal return and played well with Ba. As a player he was limited but better than nothing, incredulous that he's not been replaced because I've seen little in Sameobi or Vuckic to suggest they're ready to step up.
Especially since they are always injured.

We are ok on numbers? Well screw the numbers. Look at the quality of this numbers instead. And the striker department especially since we try and play with two strikers at the same time
-
As long as Ashley is in charge we may float around a EL spot at most.
Regardless of signings, that's probably the realistic limit of most clubs anyway. Financially, Man U, Man City and Chelsea are in a league of their own, and should retain the top three places in the years ahead. That leaves Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and ourselves chasing that final spot above the joke known as the Europa League.
That may be the case. But I have never heard of an athlete that don´t want to improve. And if there is. They can fuck off from the professional world.

I think we were lucky in many ways last season. And bar fucking Simpson I don´t think the first team is the problem (if we play 4-3-3), it´s the dept.
I think premier league is the most important tournament. I hope we priority that, and one cup too, and play kids in the other competitions.
-
Even Barca after they have won fucking all there is to win tries to improve.
I have been supporting Ashley for a long time. I think he has done a lot of good and I like "saving money". Last season I was positive and thought we were better than the season before.
But now. I don´t know. I have lost the faith with the club. As long as Ashley is in charge we may float around a EL spot at most. But I can´t see us go future.
While some supporters think that´s ok I don´t think so. I hate when there is no ambition, especially if you can do it.
I will try and enjoy HBA this season. He will be just great. Other than that. I won´t hold my breath.
-
We will never buy a player again because "remember the season 11-12. We was just great. If we did it then we can do it again without any new players".
-
pathetic
-
Forster seems to be a really good goalkeeper. Can´t for my life understand why he chose to stay in Scotland... was there really no other options
-
I don´t believe this for one second.
-
I have now got to the point were I´m no longer angry. I just feel empty and quite sad.
I can only hope that our luck from last season continues.

+1

Be real. our "second team" isn´t that great. For example I can name Obertan and Gosling. For all I know. Everytime they plays there is always name calling.
Obertan perhaps, Gosling certainly isnt first call when we have a 1st team injury. Dont confuse him getting chances with being 1st choice backup, which is what we're talking about.
Unfortunately I think he is the forth chose in the middle. And as I said. I don´t agree we have a strong second team. We have a few interesting players in a few positions, but not many.
-
I´m glad to see so many posters coming to sense in the last few pages. Unfortunately that won´t solve the situation
Just face it everyone. This club IS NOT ambitious. We just hope for the best.
-
No ones happy over the Debuchy situation. In terms of squad signings, how easy is it to upgrade our squad at this point? Many who'd come in and be better than our current reserves will be first team players elsewhere. Would they want to join our bench? All this is ignored.
We know Ashley is trying to run the club correctly financially. Does it make sense to shell out on players who may not see much gametime, when a club in our position may be able to get much better players in the future? Let alone show that we are willing to even pay above a players real value when pushed? I dont see how this will help us long term. We likely wouldnt have Cisse right now without that exact strategy.

It´s nothing wrong with our transfer policy. It´s the lack of signings (which we can afford).
-
The Anita signing actually makes less sense now.
He seems to have been bought for depth rather than play alongside Tiote and Cabaye, the Ajax fans were right
But he wanted guaranteed first team football.
Don't understand where he fits tbh if 4-4-2 is the way forward, unless Pards plans to play him in the cups and europe and Tiote in the league
Yeah but Titote is always injured so...
-
Probably another point to consider is that we're unsettled on our formation. Spurs do not really fear much with just three strikers, for example, as they are settled on a one-striker formation. As much as I do not like it, Pards is still using the 4-4-2 often. People seem to be assuming that we'd go 4-3-3 for certain with the options they are suggesting, that we could play with only one up top.
I don´t think we will do well this season. And that will back fire next season.
a) We have not signed any players
b) I don´t trust pardew right now to get the system right. Not will we only be better in a 4-3-3 ish way. We will also "save" our strikers though one always can rest.
Thoughts on this summer's transfer window

If Lille is pissing at us. Fuck them. Fuck Debuchy and just move on.
It feels like a good old punch on the balls from Ashley when reading that we are done with the window, regardless our situation.
Ashley is pissing at us. He doesn´t care about the clubs success.
