Messi's better, almost impossible to make a good case arguing otherwise. Ronaldo is tremendous, one of the best goalscorers the game has ever seen, he's proven that beyond doubt. Messi's brilliant at pretty much everything though, and might just be the best all round player the game has ever seen.

I think the Aguero injury may ultimately help Argentina. He and Aguero up top with Messi in behind wasn't working very well in my opinion, too narrow with no room for Messi to work in. Lavezzi will take up wider positions and give them more of an outlet, which will in turn create more space for Messi and some service for Higuain who has been pretty ineffective thus far. What a wonderful World Cup so far, been brilliant.

On the right yes, but they're playing the ball constantly through the left flank. Think they'd look better trying to play faster through the middle than send crosses in. Get Messi to do some maze dribbles because whipping crosses in to Gonzalo and Aguero won't work against those defenders. Obviously there's no point throwing in crosses, but having Messi drift out right to find some space would help a lot. He's sorrounded by players every time he gets it. Get him in some space to run at people cutting inside. Give someone for Zabaleta to overlap off and create space for Aguero centrally too.

Iran have done well but I don't like the shape of Argentina, very narrow.
