  1. I'll sgree with you on the Mlner piont should have been brought on earlier. However I'll say with the midfield it's pretty obvious Parker slightly damaged his knee early in the game and because of the lack of depth on the bench Roeder was forced to make Parker the holding midfield player and make Butt attempt to play Parker's role. As for Taylor/Carr I didn't think Carr played that bad today and Taylor looked slighly uncertain at RB on Wednesday.
  2. I think the thing that hurt us in the 2d half was frustration. Nothing we tried seemed to be working and when something did work we missed the chance.
  3. Again I'll probobly get bashedfor this but oh well. What was he supposed to do today? For me he did everything he could have done. People blame him for the team not scoring a goal, the team is always going to be a struggle for us when we are missing 3 of our 4 strikers and 2 key midfielders (Dyer and Emre), I add Dyer there because you have to believe up until yesterday Dyer will have been involved in all the training and no doubt would have been part of our gameplan. Also some fans can't seem to accept what this time really is. It is a transition year. The club is in a very bad financial situation, Roeder has only been able to add 4 members to Souness's squad, he's lost Owen for the year and had to let argueably his favourite midfielder from last season, Bowyer, leave. My personal opinion is that from the start this season has been a write off. Get what we can, stay up, do as well in the cups as possible and then further build on the squad. What good is it going to do sacking Roeder? We'll have to pay him off which will cost the club more money, no doubt the new manager will cost a fair bit to bring in and then he'll revamp the squad again, and maybe some of the guys like Oba won't fit in with his plans and we'll have to spend more money on new players and we'll be right back where we were this summer.
  4. I'll probobly get bashed fopr this, but I agree with Roeder. Our performance was very pleasing, we played well, looked reasonably solid at the back. The only thing that let us down was the finishing and to tell the truth on another day with some fit strikers we could have put 3 or 4 past Charlton with that performance.
  5. Fucking annoyed at that team. Milner should be playing instead of Solano. Taylor should be playing instead of Bramble. Ramage should be playing instead of Babayaro. You also have to question just how injured Martins, Amoebi and Sibierski are that not one off them can even manage 10 mins off the bench if we need them. On another interesting note Ambrose got left out the Charlton 16, would anyone mind buying him back as midfield cover?
  6. Hopefully we'll get some team news soon. Less than a hour until kick-off.

    Laurent Robert

As much as I loved him I wouldn't take him back. He's the wrong side of 30 now and we have more than enough left wingers.
  8. 3-0 to Newcastle. Rossi, Parker and Martins.
  9. From what I've heard he took a stud to the eye and had to be taken to hospital.
  10. How? Was it taking the p*ss when Thuram & Zidane came out of international football for France? If he wants to play for his country again, good on him. It'll affect his Newcastle chances mind because we have a lot more competition for his position now than what we did first time. You are forgetting why it was a problem before. He would come back from South America on the Thursday of Friday before a match and would be heavily jet-lagged and thus would either have to be on the bench or not play at all.
  11. Definetly shouldn't renew his contract now. Nowhere near effective as he used to be and is only gonna get worse having to make trips to South America every month.

    3-4-3

My personal opinion is that we should play 3-4-3 on Saturday lining up like this: GK: Harper CB: Taylor CB: Moore CB: Ramage RM: Milner CM: Parker CM: N'Zogbia LM: Duff ST: Rossi ST: Amoebi ST: Martins I think this system would be hugely successful in home fixtures against teams like Charlton. When we play attacking football it excites the crowd and they get behind the team. Lets look at our defenders first, Carr and Babayaro are huge liabilitys and this system would allow for them to be dropped. Moore, Taylor and Ramage are our best entre backs so they should be starting. On the defensive side of things I think that is the only midfield we could play. Solano wouldn't have the legs to be able to cover back whereas Milner is very hard working and Duff would have to play on the left as N'Zogbia fails to cover back a fair bit. Then in the centre we could have Parker hold as again N'Zogbia is slightly naive when it comes to defending. Going forward this system would also give us a lot more options. We have a big man in Amoebi to win headers, then two faster and neater players in Rossi and martins to move the defenders around, run in behind and generally cause bother. We'd also keep our 2 wingers in Duff and Milner which would make sure the crosses keep coming in and then they can be supported from the midfield by N'Zogbia and Parker. Thoughts?
  13. Why not this weekend against Charlton on Sky PPV? I personally believe "UNITED FOR CHANGE" would look great on banners. The Sheffield United game is also on telly and it gives us more time to organize pourselves.
  14. From the response I'm getting I think it's better to push it back to the Sheffield United game. The only problem is I can't get up for the Sheffield United game so someone else will have to arrange it properly.
  15. I was thinking outside the old ticket office. Lots of people walk through there so hopefully that will help add to the numbers.
  16. Why the need to bump a thread that was posted in less than a minute before? The post a minute before was made while, I was posting, sorry. Any chance this could get stickied so as many people see it as possible.
  17. Bump Anyone else willing to help NSG make the banners. Also can we have a few more people confirming if there gonna turn up. Bring some freinds along too.

  19. Exactly. Us being inside the ground makes the message clear that it's only Fat Fred were after and were 100% behind the team.
  20. Well if SSN caught wind of it and found themseles a supporter with half a braincell to talk to (They always manage to pick out the Morons!) then we could tell them our views. Trust me SSN and the BBC love to get the scoop on a protest. If it's big enough they will try to give it as much coverage as possible.
  21. Think that sends the wrong message to be honest. If we go in the ground it shows we are behind the team but against Fat Fred.
  22. To be honest there's no way a few hundred people or even a thousand not turning up will send a message to Fat Fred. The only way to get our voices heard is to stand outside the ground pre and post match calling for Fat Fred's head, you can bet if we do that then television and radio will report it and our voice will be heard.
  23. I'm not talking long-term. Just until we can buy a decent left back in January.
