  1. glad he is cleared to be honest, he pissed me off at anfield this season but on the whole i hope he succeeds there.

the main reason im happy he was cleared is because its just anoter daft cow trying to get some publixity imo

  2. I think he is playing the same as when SBR was here. I thought he was Nothing special at the time. I hope he refinds his form

Huh? He never played under Robson.

correct, im pretty sure his first game was against blackburn under carver when bobby had left and souness wasnt taking over until the monday?

    could be wrong like

  3. i never thought i would say this but i think we should keep him.

we will get a very low fee if we were to sell and it will probably cost us more to replace him like for like.

having said that, i cant see pearce being interested anyway

  4. Canny game that, I enjoyed it.

Milner's cross was top drawer, I'm a big fan. Always leaves his man for dead and sometimes his final ball isn't the best, unlike tonight. So ****? Rather that than Duff who can't beat his man in a month of Sundays and doesn't even bother trying to cross it.

Luque veered from the sublime to the ridiculous. He's got a hell of a cross on him too, but at times his decision making is atrocious. Reminds me of Robert in so many ways, the way he plays is practically a carbon copy (apart from the fact we've not seen him confident and in a good side as we did Robert). I'd be tempted to pick him at left wing on Sunday because I hate to say it as a huge fan of his, but Charlie is having a nightmare.

Solano added to the list of people better at RB than Steven Carr. By my reckoning, the only people we're unsure about are the groundstaff and the tea lady. Sure the waster will get his place back on Sunday anyway though.

    word for word

  5. i think its

'who's that lazy cunt in black and white?? luque! luque! who's the cunt who couldnt give a shite? luque! luque! who's the cunt who has no bite or fight coz he's shite shite shite? luque! luque!'

    or something like that.

  6. Taylor was clumsy yesterday, but the criticism is over the top. He's not thick in the slightest, he's inexperienced and just clumsy with youth.

i have called him thick in the past, but i agree, it is probably just inexperience tbh.

not sure what duff's excuse is

I'm sure, like AS9 has said, that a lot of it is down to having an inept left-back behind him. Whether it be Babayaro or Ramage, neither are very good. In my opinion, Duff is one of those players that can only play well when there are other good players around him, that can explain his fantastic performances at Chelsea. He only appears to play well in a good team. In Blackburn he stood out because he was young and the shining light of an average team.

Here, he is playing in a bad team under a bad manager.

either way he just puts his head down and runs into blind alleys, turning up his own arse, creating fuck all in the process

  7. Don't think we NEED tall players. If we could get round to play a good passing football, then we won't really need them. Perhaps for defending, but we should have cover as our CMs aren't small.

aye, i hear emre and parker have auditiones for land of the giants.

dyer and butt are thinking of giving it a shot as well.

we must be one of the smallest teams in the league.

we are desperate for some height

  8. top bloke roeder, and i really think he tries to do everything right but he falls short of what is required at our club imo.

i think and hope that a takeover will result in glenn either leaving altogether or going back to the academy and us getting in a top gaffer like we should have done in the first place.

whilst i dont think roeder will take us down, i also dont feel we will be anywhere near the top 6 as we should be given the facilities we have and the money we have spent.

the whole thing needs chnaging from top to bottom imo, from the boardroom all the way down, and i have a feeling that a takeover will provide just that.

    houillier/allardyce/sven/hitzfeld for me please.

  9. Taylor was clumsy yesterday, but the criticism is over the top. He's not thick in the slightest, he's inexperienced and just clumsy with youth. He's not the greatest of the younger defenders, and he doesn't have the potential of the likes of Micah Richards, etc - but he's a competent player with a big future in a black and white shirt ahead of him. The incident with Henry yesterday was silly, and with his inexperience - he just flung his arm out in an attempt to keep up with the most mobile striker in the Premiership.

The ball wasn't going to go out, and Henry would have got there, so Taylor's foul was a little cynical, but mainly just clumsiness and largely down to inexperience. If we had a decent coach and some class defenders in the squad, Taylor would come on in leaps and bounds; same goes for Ramage.

Taylor had a decent game yesterday, and is miles better than Stephen Carr.

i have called him thick in the past, but i agree, it is probably just inexperience tbh.

  10. personally, if the belgravia group are to pump in lots of cash for players, i think there is a good chance we will see sven here. i cant see them wanting to give glenn all of the money of we are still doing badly and i think they will go for a big name.

i also wouldnt be at all surprised to see a move for beckham.

these guys are looking to raise our profile and to make cash, and becks and sven would certainly raise the profile

Roeder will not be here if they buy the club, who they bring in will depend on who they use as an advisor on the running of the football side of things, I wouldn't be surprised if they appoint somebody with footballing knowledge higher placed than team manager, Keegan wouldn't be out of the question as a director to deliver a strategy to revive the fortunes on the field.

    that would do me

  12. The gathering pace of this story reflects the fact that if anything is going to happen, it's going to happen soon.

The club is vulnerable to a takeover because Fred has got us into a weak position. Finances in a mess. In clear danger of relegation. Desperately in need of reinforcements come the January transfer window to avert the possible drop, but likely to increase the financial problems by borrowing to fund player purchases and worsen the wages/turnover ratio. And all this the season before a massive hike in revenue from television rights.

Fat Fred has three options. 1) He can leave things pretty much as they are, with maybe a couple of token player purchases, and hope to ride out the season without being relegated. 2) He can do whatever financial shenanigens are needed to change the manager and make some major player purchases, in the hope that this extra effort/expenditure will avert relegation. 3) He can cash in his chips.

If we get relegated it's a disaster however you look at it, but it'll be a much worse disaster for both Fred and the club if he's borrowed heavily in the attempt to stave it off. Either way we'd immediately have to get rid of all the big wage-earners. We'd probably have to start trimming the wage bill even if we managed to survive in the Premiership. Going down, it wouldn't be quite as bad as Leeds but it wouldn't be pretty.

The best we can hope for under Fred is to ride out the storm and then carry on stumbling from crisis to crisis, with more knee-jerk managerial appointments and supposedly crowd-pleasing player purchases. He's taken us as far as he can. I don't think anything less than a major investment in the club is going to stabilise things and move us up to the next level. If that takes building a casino, well, deal me in. Otherwise we're stuck in Fred's vicious circle.

As for selling up, if Fred is going to do it, now is the time. He must know this too. If he doesn't sell out now, he might not be able to sell out at all, and if we get relegated, he's never going to get the price his shares might fetch now. In a financially weak position, his only bargaining counter is time. To make sense, a buy-out needs to happen in time for some activity in the January window – new owners aren't going to be very interested in Championship football either. So Fred will stall in the hope of getting the best possible price at the last possible minute. It's a dangerous game, because if he stalls too much, he might lose the deal altogether.

    Interesting times.
