Who would Pennant replace in our team? Solano, Duff and Dyer could do a better job on the right IMO, and then there's Milner who had a better season than Pennant. If Pennant was in our squad he'd have been on the bench today. I'd play Pennant ahead of Solano because of his pace and how that would contribute to our overall game. Especially if Roeder is going to stick with this 4-5-1. Although I do understand where you're coming from, I reckon having a pacey right winger is better than having Solano or Milner on the right. And playing Duff on the right wing is just a non-starter because the only reason to do such a thing would be to accomadate Zoggy but there's no reason to change a winning formula (we are winning atm). We need pace, especially with our strikers lacking this important characteristic.

Thought Agger was rather good. Happy that a couple of their players have picked up a few minor knocks yet I'm in awe of the fact that their replacements WOULD be starters in our team (Pennant and Agger).

Sometimes you make good posts mate, but this has been said before, what do you consider failure ? Would you rather we had won the League Cup and been relegated and struggled for most of the time like the smoggies than have the decades in europe etc that we have ? I consider not winning trophies a failure. No, I wouldn't like to be like the Smoggies but that doesn't mean that I can't be disappointed with our current position and the fact that we haven't won a trophy since the UEFA one is the late 60s. It also doesn't mean that we should 'settle' for this position. Last thing, this also doesn't mean that my support has waned over the years or my expectations are too high. True, I may have been spoiled by Keegan's reign but that's because I started supporting 'us' during that time, but yet, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't aim to be the very best. Why settle?

Our aim: win trophies Result: no trophies in the last 30 odd years Conclusion: FAILURE The board over the last 30 years : FAILURE Yes, NE5, that includes Fat Fred as well. It also includes SJH because we never won a fucking trophy with him! Yes, he helped the club and brought it back but we still have won shite!! We don't have a divine right to win, I know. But that should always be our aim... And since we didn't achieve it, we failed (or 'they' did).

He showed as much loyalty (when we needed it) as much as Rio showed to Leeds. Decent 'squad' player but will end up nothing more than that.

We haven't played THAT bad. It has been poor, but we've been good enough for the 0-0 so far. Brum aren't playing well and neither have we. We actually look like a team that is waiting for Michael Owen to come in. And Pattison is playing badly. He is not involved. Solano has had a few wild passes while Zoggy does not look comfortable in the park. I don't think he has made even one of his usual mazy runs with the ball. Its just pass and pass and pass (backwards, backwards and backwards). It is almost Jenas-like. Bramble is playing well though. Very commanding and taking charge while Ameobi has also done some decent stuff yet has drifted out of the game of late. Chopra has been his usual full-of-running-but-unproductive self. Lets hope we can do better in the second half.

By my calculations we have blackburn and bolton to reckon with for 6th place and I'm extremely afraid that bolton might get at least a point against Spurs. Although it is an important game for Spurs, if they do not win then I see Bolton stealing our place UNLESS we win against Chelsea on the final day (which I have a feeling we will have to do AND will do).
