  1. Let's not gan bonkers. They still had about 3,000 shots on goal and Given had to make at least 3 excellent saves to deny them. Arsenal always have those chances with any team they play so the fact that we restricted their game that much shows me that we defended well. The only time I believe our defence was breached was when Fabregas had his left footed shot and maybe when Henry tried to curl it in. At other times, it was just shots which were thumped from outside the box. Arsenal were never able to do their intricate passing within our area or have multiple one-on-ones that they always do against other teams. This shows that, to me, at least today, we defended well.
  2. My key points - - Dyer changes the way we play. Stick him in the center of midfield and let him roam/run or better yet, play him off the top like he was played today because he won't need to worry as much about defending and thus can concentrate on attacking. - Bramble had a thoroughly decent game. Very pleased about that. Didn't give away stupid fouls. Credit the whole defence actually. We defended well as a team. Every time Arsenal had the ball outside our area, you could the line that the defence was making and further up the line that Parker and Butt were making. Credit to Roeder for planning this; it worked really well. - Martins' hold up play is way better than Ameobi's. The myth that we need big men to hold up the ball was dispelled today. He dropped back, linked up well with our midfielders and although he didn't harry Arsenal's defenders, it's something you have to accept because he's up front alone. Great mature team-work orientated game from the lad - Parker was really quiet today (again). He ran alot and tried to play but just wasn't in it. We need more from him than just the running and harrying because Butt does exactly that and does it better. However, maybe Parker was just instructed to do exactly that with Butt and I guess he did his job well because we came away with a point.
  3. 11 points away from 6th. We have to start looking up now. Last season, at one point, I think we were 14(?) away and we made it, we have to do the same this year. Howay the lads. I'm trying not to get carried away here but if Dyer can stay healthy, we'll be moving up the table no doubt. Two tough away games (look at Man City's home record) and we've gotten 2 points out of it = good enough.
  4. Are you fucking joking?! Roeder got it spot on. We came here and got what we most of us would have been delighted to get. If we're playing well up until the 70th minute, why would you want to change it? Sibierski only came on when Moore had the injury and Duff was really tiring by the end of it. I don't understand why you would want Roeder to change things around when we're 1-0 up and Arsenal are not exactly all over us..
  5. That's Mario Kempes, man. Still not Kluivert! bluebigrazz.gif
  6. The turning point is in bold, in my opinion. But then far be it from me to slag Fred, according to the monkey, Oz and now cyberbats I love Fred..... What do you have against Shearer? I remember sometime last year when we were still in 14th or something like that and Shearer came out and said 'we can still make 7th', your response was something along the lines of 'here he goes spouting shit again'... And now putting our downfall on the fact that we did not sell our main striker who had just scored 28 goals the season prior (iirc). I hate it when people now overplay the importance of Bellamy. Before, Bellamy was underrated.. now? He's just ****ing overrated. Sure, he changed the way we played, which lengthened Shearer's career by a few years but if Shearer wasn't there to finish those balls sent in by him and our wingers, we would never have reached the heights that we did. Bellamy never ****ing scored more than 10 league goals in a season for us!! And as we can see now, with Shearer gone, we are really desperate for a goalscorer similar to him. Nowt. Not being funny, but I'd like you to find the post you refer to. In general terms I think Shearer does spout shite in that he talks in cliches. He also babbles a load of shite about Geordies thinking winning the FA Cup is more important than the league. Apart from that he's just another player who has played and done well for the club I support. They come and go. I'm not interested in a hero and I'm not interested in sentimentality either. He should have gone sooner than he did, well before the end he was holding the club back and I don't like that no matter how good he was in his prime. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,17785.msg331286.html#msg331286 Here. Thanks. You could tell me now what your problem is? He's spouting cliche ridden shite, is he not? Which is what I said. It wasn't so much shite considering where we ended up now, was it? And did I miss the part where you mentioned that what he was saying was cliched? Or was that somehow implied in your brief statement? What is it to you anyway, you his dad or something? Yes bluebigrazz.gif
  7. But how long has it been since we've been at our best?? We're just consistently shit or consistently inconsistenty which consistently frustrates the fuck out of me blueyes.gif
  8. The threads go down the pan when the: "Still havent answered the question I see" "I have can't you read" "no you haven't, I can read, you can't" "No, I can read, you can't answer the question" "where were you when..." " " " " " " "so when are you going to answer the question?" "I have answered it, can't you read, answer my question" "avoiding the question again, probably because you werent there right?" "I have answered the question, cant you read?" " " " " "so when are you going to answer the question on page xx?" "Still can't read I see, when are you going to answer my question" and so on and so on and so on way into double figure pages! well, I thought it was OK .. I will leave it to you to consider the contribution made by Kluivertdhino .... and the failure of macbeths monkey to backup his opinions with factual information serious question.. how did Omardinho become Kluivertdhino??? isn't his avatar actually a pic of Maradona??

  12. genius best part was 'Douggy - look at the tits on this'
  13. FT 3-0 btw. We're fucked next week.
  14. Adebayor misses 1-on-1.. as usual. Poor 7m spent there by Wenger. He's alright but not 7m. His price and RVP shoulda been switched.
  15. referee strained his muscle
  16. What was he doing up there? Good finish though.
  17. Thats funny, because we play them first away before they go to the Reebok. It's because it would only have been 6 days since RVP got this yellow card when we play them whereas it will be 7 days after Emre received his and the suspension only kicks in after 7 days.
  18. Yep because it's 7 days but for Van Persie it would only have been 6 days. Can anyone confirm?
  19. 3-1 to the arse is my prediction. I'm hoping Henry doesn't get in on the act though.
  20. Interesting game so far. Come on Arsenal!
  21. We really need him to step it up soon.
  22. The last five minutes.. aaaaaaah!!! Dyer was good - Pro. Midfield was really good in the second half (at times) - Pro. Shit defending - Con. We still have to learn how to pass it up from the back. When we did, Dyer or whoever it was that was in 'the hole' had so much space and we played much better. Stick to this exact formation next game because when the ball is on the ground, our midfielders can pass (Zoggy, Milner, Solano, Dyer, Emre and Parker).
  23. If they want to move out of the comfort zone and really test their skills they would. Bet they don't the big pussy's! *hopes they are reading this thread and are the type of people who will do something just because you call them a pussy! bluebiggrin.gif Mcfly, you chicken..
