Hmmmm... The helicopter flew down the length of Newcastle Airport's runway at 350ft and continued west. It then turned south-east and overflow St James Park, before doing a 180 degree turn and is now flying north-west. This is not a regular flight; this is a very big, very expensive helicopter doing some weird tourist type flight. I saw a lot of them hovering over and around Aberdeen earlier this morning (on Flightradar), along with some Belgian helicopters the same size. At first I thought of some sort of safety drill or certification tests for pilots.

The GLF6 looks like it'll land in Tel Aviv or Amman, it's descending right now.

A bigger jet than the recent ones so maybe a possibility but looks like it’s heading too far west. It’s turned more northerly, straight towards Newcastle. Will almost certainly land somewhere else though. Nice. Might be heading for Germany, lets see if it stays on this course. Unfortunately not it has just entered Greek airspace, I guess it's headed for an Eastern European city.

Canal+ Denmark are set to launch a new sportschannel, Canal9, mid July. They claim that they will show Championship football as well, but their intro page does not tell how many CCC games they are going to show: http://www.canal9.dk/introduktion_topfodbold.aspx Perhaps it would be a good idea to check whether Canal+ in the other Scandinavian countries are planning to launch Canal9 as well. (I'm crossing my fingers for TV2 Sport, though)

I can recommend the Dene Hotel on Grosvenor Rd., it's close to Osbourne Road and a 10 minutes walk from West Jesmond metro station. It's not too expensive (£70 per night on weekends, IIRC) and it's located on a quiet road.
