  1. Fuck, how did we not score? And Bruno injured in the process as well
  2. if that’s how you feel about PIF as owners, would it be any better if we’d be winning everything in sight? We don’t “need” to be owned by them, but we are. I don’t see how the fact we could be owned by someone else makes a difference to the level of ambition, or lack thereof, of the current owners. Highlighting their faults is fair game, but to suggest they are not acting in the club’s best interests or not doing enough is disingenuous imo.
  3. A bit odd that a sense of entitlement already seems to be creeping in while we've not won a thing in most of our lifetimes. We're on the way up and under the stewardship of people who want the best for the club. The fact our owners are filthy rich is of little consequence if they're not allowed to invest by corrupt regulators acting to look after the interests of the clubs currently at the top of the pyramid. All we can do is hope our owners play their cards right, do as well as they can within their possibilities and enjoy the ride. So far we've been in a cup final and competed in the Champions League, as well as there has been more investment per year than the previous useless incumbent invested over his 15 year tenure, so I think we have very little reason for concern or complaint
  4. If combined with getting rid of FMV they'll be fine for us and others with owners willing to invest their own money.
  5. Ooh, tough one. Good technical player, but a bit too lightweight for the PL I think. Probably better suited to La Liga I’d say.
  6. Agree. Came with plenty of promise, but not being able to get into the first team of Scottish and Dutch not exactly top teams is a clear sign he’s probably not cut out for the Premier League. A cheap gamble, that didn’t work out. Probably get our money back still.
  7. Wasn’t aware he turned it down, just that for some reason it broke down. Maybe with some more reflection and preparation time he’s now open to such a move. Think that’s our best bet of getting a decent fee. I like Miggy though, so no averse to him staying. Needs to sort out his fitness issues though, but that goes for half our squad at the moment.
  8. Alright @Ikon, you ready for some more..? Willem van Hanegem, Feyenoord legend in his weekly column in AD: ESPN commentator Kenneth Perez: Post match interview (in bad English from the interviewer and the interviewee) with the man himself here: https://nos.nl/video/2515887-uitblinker-minteh-mooie-dag-voor-rotterdam-en-gambia
  9. Keep Murphs for versatily, sell Miggy (as much as I like him and if he’s willing to play ball) to SA for a decent fee, get Minteh in as understudy to a new first choice RW would be the ideal scenario I suppose. If finances are stretched and we need to prioritise other positions (center forward and center back spring to mind, perhaps left back and goalkeeper too) then I’d be happy to either give Minteh the chance to make the position his own or loan him out again and go for a number 1 RW.
  10. I once fact-checked that Talksport interview; it was all lies or, being charitable, he may have already misremembered nearly everything he was ever involved with, from things he claimed to have won to players he claimed ro have got on a free and sold for huge profit. Ashley deserves shooting with shit for appointing him (amongst many other things). edit: here’s a breakdown from a journalist: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/joe-kinnear-radio-interview-line-by-line-1960189
  11. Don’t forget Sissy, Insomnia and Lambeezee
  12. I mentioned in an earlier post I suspected he had early stages of dementia. All the more reason to thank his mate for the opportunity of managing us and advising him to appoint someone properly qualified for the job. Again, I hold no severe grudge, but I will not retrospectively review my opinion of him because he suffered from dementia and has now died. All I care about is how people represent the club and I don’t have fond memories of Joe Kinnear in that respect. He never understood us as a club or a group of fans. An Ashley yes man who did more harm than good.
  13. He acted like a cunt representing our club and I’m not happy he’s died. Both can be true.
  14. Shay Given, upon leaving for Man City, summed up what Kinnear represented to NUFC players and fans at the time: source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5022257/Newcastle-Mike-Ashley-hired-Joe-Kinnear-p-fans.html
  15. He had a responsibility in taking the job and sucking at it though. It was clear from the onset that the fans didn’t want him at this club, and he did nothing to prove them wrong. To the contrary, he made us into a bigger shambles and laughing stock than we already were at that point. I bear little hard feelings to him, but let’s not pretend he was not one in a long line of wasters who took and club’s money only to leave it in a worse state than they found it. I wish him peace, but I can’t respect him for his “service” to the club I love.
  16. I think he may have already been suffering with dementia at the time. Unreal interview.
  17. Forever associated with one of our most shameful periods as a club. RIP nevertheless.
  18. Rotterdam based paper gave Minteh a 9/10, making him their man of the match. Source: https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetbal/klassieker-op-rapport-hoogste-cijfers-voor-minteh-en-paixao-bij-feyenoord-slechts-een-voldoende-bij-ajax~a29fb2e7/
