  1. Great header back that was..
  2. Aye, liking it better than Spain's 4-6-0 so far..
  3. Very poor start to the match..
  4. Hoping for a good match, don't care who wins..
  5. Surely its fate that we'll buy him. Very promising player too, so all for it!
  6. Wat? Premier League top scorer. Oh, I got that. Just a bit surprised to see you not even mentioning the likes of Van Persie, Rooney, Aguero, etc. Both Jelavic and Cisse have made excellent starts to their Premiership career, but do you really expect them to score 30 odd goals next season? Maybe a bold prediction , just can't see RVP having another season like this, especially when he has to share the goals with Tevez and Aguero. I do think Cisse will win it at a canter though, Jelavic will be near the top. Must have missed the Van Persie to Man City transfer.. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect Cisse to be top scorer at a canter. I'd be extatic if he finishes with over 20 goals next season (I know his record in his first 14 matches, just don't expect him to keep it up).

How many times as the Prem top scorer scored more than 30 goals?! Van Persie got 30 this season, with Rooney 27. You'd need to be in that ball park to "battle it out for top scorer next season" I'd have thought..

  9. I think they've already qualified.. But nah, I actually expect them to surprise a few people and go all the way. They usually do well when you least expect it.
  10. Well yes, it was painful to see that even though we had two defensive midfielders we were still carved open relatively easily a few times by a fairly mediocre team. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the tournament..
  11. Robben's a fantastic player but when he's having one of those days (which he seems to have had loads of lately), there's nobody more frustrating to watch. This. There's a lot of debate in the Dutch press that he should be made to play the left side of the front 3 rather than the right, so he becomes less predictable and could actually put a cross in once in a while. Personally I would like to see the following front 6: De Jong Van Bommel Sneijder Persie Huntelaar Robben with Van Persie, Sneijder and Robben frequently changing position during the match. We need two defensive midfielders because our defense is so crap basically, but that front 4 should have enough about them to see off most opponents normally.
  12. Emanuelson and Anita were two decent, if not natural, options for that left back spot once it became clear Pieters wouldn't be able to make the tournament. Luckily Willems was one of the best players for Holland yesterday, or the Dutch press would be on Van Marwijk's case by now for bringing such an inexperienced player along as first choice full back. Strangely, the much more experienced Van der Wiel on the right stuck out like a sore thumb yesterday and looked like he was the 18 year old nervous one..
  13. Aye, also if the next two matches (Holland vs Germany and Portugal vs Denmark) both result in draws, that would mean Germany and Denmark will only need a point in their last match, which is against each other. Guess what will happen then.. Germany, having beaten Holland already, can beat Denmark and be through on 6 points. Holland beat Portugal, then when they face Germany, Germany will already through and won't bother turning up (yeah, that sounds like them) so then Holland will beat them, come second in the group on goal difference and my bet will come off. I realise this is slightly scuppered by Germany and Holland being the next game, but don't worry, a Holland victory will get their tournament in gear, and Germany losing will mean they bounce back and win their next game.

  15. I'm disappointed by the result (obviously), but I don't think the football was that bad, apart from the defending which was s**** as expected. On another day we could have had four or five and nobody would have bat an eyelid.. Quite intrigued to find out what this squad is really made from now the going's got tough.
  16. One good thing about yesterday is the knockout stages of the tournament have now officially started for us. Four years ago we were on fire in the first two group matches, than laid back and played the second string in the third and were promptly knocked out in the QF. Very disappointing result yesterday, but I do expect the lads to come out fighting next Wednesday. Can't even afford a draw now; must win vs the tournament favourites..
  17. Depends if he can play football, which he can't.. Edit: just looked at an @j@x forum and they seem to rate him quite highly. Maybe my hatred for them has clouded my judgement somewhat, and I barely watch Eredivisie anyway. Any transfer rumour involving him has not reached their shores btw.
  18. FT, fair result, decent match.
