  1. Landon Donovan has completed his loan switch from Los Angeles Galaxy to Bayern Munich. They also signed Olic from Hamburg.......guess Podolski is on his way then (wish it was to us.....cheeky loan bid?)
  2. only allowed two at the same time. West Ham have 3 (Di Michele, Illunga and Lastuvka)
  3. being sent back to Valencia according to Kinnear.......shame he had the injury and no chance to play subsequently.
  4. Poland goalkeeping coach Andrzej Dawidziuk has told Artur Boruc he should move to Newcastle - if the English club make a bid and Celtic accept the offer. Dawidziuk's logic, for the lack of a better word, appears to be flawed. He thinks Boruc needs to leave Parkhead because, for the sake of his career, he needs to play in a bigger league than the SPL. Dawidziuk should know better than to believe the spin and hype that surrounds the Premier League, but he has clearly fallen for it. Dawidziuk is quoted by the Daily Express as saying: "Celtic obviously believe Artur is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. That`s why they have kept their faith with him this season, despite all of the events in his life on and off the field. If that wasn`t the case, Celtic would have replaced him long ago. "It`s clear that Gordon Strachan wishes to keep him. But I really believe that, for the sake of Artur`s career, he should play in a bigger, more demanding league. If Newcastle make an offer for him, and Celtic accept it, then I think he should take the chance with both hands. He is at a stage where he needs a new challenge."
  5. I thought Barca or Real/La Liga were his dream move
  6. yes. I think he`s not done too bad for Hull either
  7. Hull manager Phil Brown will tie up the £2.5m deal for Kamil Zayatte this week and then bid £4m for Sunderland striker Michael Chopra. Brown also wants Wigan's 31-year-old midfielder Kevin Kilbane. (The Sun)
  8. Would rather have Pedro Mendes here than Ferguson especially for 1.5m. Mind, he cost them 3m and he`s done well for Rangers so not sure they`d accept half the amount....probably more paper bollox --------- Newcastle to bring Pedro Mendes back to Britain for £1.5m Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is making a move to bring Pedro Mendes back to the Premier League. Kinnear has asked Rangers - via an agent - if he can take the former Portsmouth and Tottenham midfielder on loan with a view to a £1.5million move. Mendes has done well for the Glasgow club since joining from Pompey in August, but Kinnear has heard he is interested in coming back to England for a better standard of football. Rangers are under pressure to trim their wage bill and offload players, but they would want a guaranteed sale for Mendes if Newcastle come up with the cash up front. Mendes, twice capped by Portugal, would give the Magpies some much-needed options in central midfield. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/01/06/newcastle-to-bring-pedro-mendes-back-to-britain-for-1-5m-115875-21019516/
  9. Bayern to offload Podolski http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/04012009/58/bundesliga-bayern-want-9-5m-podolski.html Aston Villa are in talks with West Ham to sign Matthew Upson for £10m, but the Hammers want £15m for the defender. (News of the World) I guess Carlos Cuellar hasn`t impressed too much? Whenever he`s played I think it`s rarely been at centre back even
  10. obviously disappointed if he leaves but one department we have some strength in is goalkeepers. Harper does a steady job when called upon and Krul is a massive prospect along with Forster.....obviously not not in the same class as Shay but not many keepers are. Would love to see Krul be given more chances but not exactly a great time to be thrown in. Obviously Harper will be next in line if Shay leaves
  11. Elano's been s**** since this time last year, though. Been playing well recently. would be more than happy if we could get him on loan from City (apparently Lazio and Espanyol are after him on loan)
  12. According to the Arsenal fans he`s not been the same since he came back from the African Nations Cup, very injury prone, cant string 2 consecutive games together. Apparently also he looks far better with a defender that compliments his main weakneses - aerially. When Campbell was in central defence with Campbell dominating in the air and Kolo taking care of the rest and the more tricky players.Gallas and Toure just don`t play well as a partnership. Bit like the Coloccini situation? We need a big centre half that can dominate the aerial balls.....dont think we`d have much chance of getting him anyway. I can see Man City going for him Quite surprised by that. Is there an underlying reason as to why? Hates Gallas http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1103386/Toure-set-quit-Gunners-blazing-bust-defensive-partner-Gallas.html This explains it. He had a bust up with Gallas after the 2-2 draw at Villa and he feels that Wenger is taking Gallas's side. Cherno Samba the perfect partner. agreed. Not sure how true the reports are that he`s unsettled at Blackburn but would be a very good signing for us. 6`5 and 24 years old. Again there would be other clubs after him I`m sure. Never knew the boy wonder was at Rovers!! He's mixing him up with Christopher I think the other one plays for FC Haka in Finland :colo:

  15. the new Wayne Quinn only right footed ....nah tbh I know nowt about him......can`t see Sheffield United only wanting 1.5m for him anyway (more like 4m) You know how championship clubs are asking for ridiculous sums of money for unproven players....adding a few mil if he`s English
  16. would be happy with either or both of the 2. But 5m for a soon to be 31 year Bouba Diop is too much. Can`t see Portsmuff selling him after the Diarra sale anyway. We'll sign Aaron Hughes at 23.55 on Jan 30th Wouldnt be a bad thing bytheway. shouldn`t have sold him in the first place especially for a measly 1m. A very steady player that can play different positions and doesn`t kick up a fuss if benched
  17. wasn`t Nathaniel the one heading the Nigerian buyout of our club supposedly a few months back? Probably more bollox then
  18. Lucho Gonzalez would be great....can play several positons, box to box and scores goals......not going to happen of course especially as we`re not bidding more than 6m for anyone.
  19. Juanito's agent has insisted he has not received an approach from Newcastle United about the availability of the Real Betis defender. The 32-year-old's contract at Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera is due to expire at the end of the season. The Magpies have been linked with a move for his services, although the Premier League club have yet to comment on the rumours. Juanito recently stated that he intends to extend his stay at Betis, and his agent, Tente Sanchez, has confirmed he will talk with his current club before considering a move elsewhere. "Absolutely nothing has come to me. If something comes, they will have to talk with Betis because he has contract with them until June." He continued in Diario de Sevilla: "We are not going to arrive at any agreement with anybody else until things are sorted out with Betis. "If this doesn't happen, other possibilities will be opened up and I'm talking about next year. If someone wants him now, they have it relatively easy - they have to talk with Betis. "We've already had a meeting and at the start of January we will talk again to see how the situation is. The idea is to get in contact with each other and know what either party is proposing."
  20. drenthe is cack... he's dutch milner... can't cross to save his life He's pacy as f*** though, nothing like Milner. But, yeah, he's really not very good at all. pacy as f***?.. doubt it... rarely beat his man nowadays... what a load of $hite.....you have not watched must of Real this season I take it.
  21. I think Olic fits that mould and a very good player too.....very similar to Bellamy moreso apart from the injury record and not being a mouthy bastard. Hamburg are doing very well now under Jol so not sure if he`d be looking for a move.
  22. Not sure if they`ve been mentioned yet but I would like to see Goran Pandev or Fernando Cavenaghi here. Watched alot of the South American qualifiers recently also and have been impressed with the 2 Paraguayan strikers Cardozo (Benfica) and Cabanas
