This is just ridicilous, that sum of money for one player is just dumb. I mean they could spend it much more wisely by getting somebody like Diego and then go out and get 4 quality players to fix their defensive problems. This isn't a wow statement, this is just plain stupidity

I visit Portugal several times a year and after speaking to some Portuguese friends I think Meireles would be a great signing as we need a playmaker type. He is also very good at taking dead ball pieces. The only worry might be that the EPL might be too robust for him as he is quite small about 5'6" but better than anything we currently have According to Wikipedia he`s 1.79 m (5 ft 10+1⁄2 in) which is quite a difference......of course Wiki aint gospel. From what I saw of him on tv he doesn`t look like a short arse
