  1. Players will think twice before turning us down.
  2. BUSH BACKS BIN LADEN IN BLACK AND WHITE BID SHOCKA!!
  3. Haven't his family disowned him anyway? Of course they have about 10 years ago. The Bin Laden Group are very popular with the Bush's.
  4. We would have bought him basically but there were too many strings attached. Seems a bit hypocritical that spiderman comes through the door as our next signing then! It's a web of deceit man!
  5. I can picture George "monkey face" Bush giving a press conference about how the Toon army is massive and we are producing WMD's and have nuclear capability Alan Smith is a WMD.

  7. More money than Ashley. I'm not doubting it. I just find it hilarious that they're so desperate to bad-mouth us that they'll link us to one of the most hated names in the world. His family (part of the Saudi Royal family) are frequently guests at Bush's ranch and they've disowned Osama and cut off his allowance. Opposition supporters would have a field day of course I realise that, on the other hand we might have access to the Saudi Royal family bank account which is easily bigger than Abramovitch's money. So we might have the last laugh if there is anything to this of course. I for one am not worried if MA sells the club which he will do over the next 3-5 years anyway.
  8. Personally think Lita is alright.
  9. Apart from an private equity firm that deals in sports (mainly broadcasting) saying they were approached, there is no proof what so ever. Had you heard of said media firm before Friday? Lets say they want to move into the British market. What better way to get your name into the mainstream press than talks over 'buying' a football club? Even if Ashley denies it (again), their aim is accomplished Yep, to quote the BBC article: It is not known who made the approach to InterMedia. There are many other people who might approach InterMedia about this and not be a club employee. Someone perhaps who wants to buy us but needs the money. Keegan buys club.
  10. Isn't it more attractive without debt?
  11. are you the first person who actually thinks there may be truth in this ? Fancy that eh, does us all a favour by wiping out a stadium debt, then has the temerity to include it in the asking price, and more. Don't think the club debt is at all relevant here, he bought the club and ultimately the debt was a £100m reduction in his own assets. So thus the club cost Ashley £230m regardless of whether the debt was paid off, so now that he has paid it off, he is perfectly entitled to include it in the asking price. are you the first person who actually thinks there may be truth in this ? I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he sells up. No smoke without fire, as for the lack of quotes, quotes aren't Ashleys style. He's a poor communicator in fact. I trust Keegan's personal judgement of Ashley's intentions to be honest. Keegan would be manager if he perceived Ashley as having a short term objective. are you the first person who actually thinks there may be truth in this ? He's a businessman after all and would sell up if the right offer came along just like Shepherd and the Halls did. As would the Glazers, Gillett and Hicks, Shinawatra or anybody else who was offered a massive return on their investment (bar maybe Abramovich). The fact that he has named such a price, suggests to me that he doesn't want to sell up. If in point of fact he named that price.
  12. ...the cycle is complete as the tired salmon thrash the last few miles to thier spawning ground.
  13. Cause all opinions should be welcome on a message board. Either that or people can just cut and paste each others fawning nonsense.
  14. Fucking happy he didn't come here then. Newcastle is in Italy ffs!
  15. Didn't know that. So you think he's more of an all-rounder than a deadly winger?
  16. Since when did you become so knowledgeable about Jonas Gutierrez? The minute you realised you could use his signing as some ammo for another spot of moaning? Just finished watching dvd, read all the fans forum and spainish football magazines as well as talking to my friends from spain. do some research from the net... Shit. I expect our people have only seen him play once or twice. If only they'd thought this through....
  17. Yes and they will continue to come till we put some professional media handling in place. Spin works both ways as I'm sure you know.
  18. We need someone to manage media expectations really, A professional handler. The perceived value/identity and strength of the club is as important these days as buying players or building stadiums. That'd be the person who told the Newcastle Spokesman what to say when he/she rubbished the story. The damage is already done though. That's my point. If we developed our contacts with the London media and there are many clear avenues for this kind of thing, we could be approached and consulted before these kinds of stories go out. Or even stop them going out. These kinds of things hurt the club, professional media handling avoids all of this. Ashley is a poor communicator, it just doesn't wash to say 'we're quietly getting on with things'. expectations since the takeover are just too high and too many people want it to fail. You see people wanting to buy or invest in us is actually really a positive story, not a negative one.
  19. But then he'd have to come out and deny every rumour everytime a false claim came out. If he released quotes saying he has no plans of selling to 'American investors', then the next time something came up (selling a player, selling the club etc.), if he didn't release quotes denying it then, it'd be "OMG! Ashley has denied to comment therefore he definitely wants to sell!!! Buy our paper!!" You either comment on everything or nothing and sadly, it's easier to remain silent. I see your piont but this links in with another piont I made in another thread. Ashley needs to do a big interview for the official website underlining his long term ambitions and plans for the club and in doing that make it perfectly clear he has no intention of selling the club at any price. Would also be ideal if he did this interview on camera and sent it to SSN as well. At the moment to the general fan Ashley is a owner who has not invested heavily in the playing squad and is constantly linked with selling the club, which is obviously not a positive image. He needs to outline the general transfer philosophy of the club to fans and make it clear that he does not want to sell, only then will these rumours stop. Generally agree it would pre-empt a lot of things like this. Something like an owners statement or plans for the new season would be a route of pain free pr and communication. The papers are very keen to draw him into any story at the moment basically, but he could take control of that debate and in many ways so far he hasn't. It might just be his way of saying bollocks to them, when he took over we heard the press didn't like him (the city boys) because they heard nowt and he was a bit of a renegade. He probably just can't be arsed It just doesn't work like that these days. The media is as much a business tool as balancing the books. It has worked that way so far for Ashley though, I'd never heard of the bugger before he bought us. But this is football, completely different ball game. ho ho

  23. So what if it is true? He's a professional investor and businessman if he wants to sell the club for a huge profit, well that's just business. No biggie.
