  1. It’s been Ross Wilson’s #1 priority since he arrived to acquire a club abroad
  2. On the basis of all the evidence of watching Dalglish's Newcastle, however, sacking him wasn't a mistake.
  3. He didn’t say that? “There was a comment about being destined for relegation but Howe saved us - sorry that’s garbage…”
  4. So Howe didn't save us from relegation? Heard it all now. You think Tripps and Bruno would have signed for Bruce? You think 38 points in 19 games - Champions League qualification form - from the day Trippier arrived (and we were five points adrift of safety) would have happened without Howe? Absolute horseshit.

    Yoane Wissa

It was still an absolutely minging first touch
  7. Weird. I was at the game, and although his miss was a howler, I thought Wissa put a shift in and did ok. Even won a couple of headers.
  8. What about the other platforms? What about the fact that, wages-wise, Villa have paid loan players far more than any NUFC player earns?
  9. Capology’s figures are current (they include Wissa, Woltemade, Elanga etc). They have Villa paying out £250k more per week than us.
  10. No. But I’m certain he’d heard of Kieran Trippier, who clearly believed in Howe.
  11. Capology, fbref, Givemesport and Salaryleaks all have us as 8th biggest. All of them have Villa above us.
  12. “Howe’s transfers…” I love how he’s apportioned all blame for transfers when that’s patently not his job. I don’t recall him getting proportionate praise for the likes of Bruno and Isak… As for the Ferguson comparison not being contemporary enough, what about the Tottenham one? What about the Klopp one? Hypocritical nonsense.
  13. You can’t be arsed to do any research, so how would you know? You said - unreservedly - that successful clubs would regard Howe as a busted flush. I’ve given you a modern-day example of a club who benefitted from not making a kneejerk reaction to one poor season (a season which saw Liverpool also win only six of 14 Europa League games), and an example of a club who have never recovered from a kneejerk sacking. Neither of the managers involved had to endure the shitstorm that Isak and the lack of strategic leadership at SJP inflicted on Howe. And if you think the pressure on/expectation of Howe at Newcastle is greater than it was for Ferguson at Man United, you really need to learn your history.
  14. It’s that type of attitude which defines successful clubs? Man Utd finished 11th and 13th in the seasons leading up to their first trophy under Ferguson. Tottenham recorded two runners-up finishes and got to a Champions League final under Poch, and sacked him the following season when they were … 14th in the table. Liverpool finished eighth in Klopp’s first season in charge…
  15. Based on him losing Ligue 1 in his first season at PSG, only making the last 16 of the Champions League a year later, only finishing sixth with Chelsea and over-favouring experience over youth, and not particularly impressing in charge of the USA.
