"Big" is your club and all the bigger ones. Unless the other guy's club is clearly far bigger, in which case they're corporate-lapdog sell-outs with plastic fans, and you have the moral high ground.

Girl power > black power

Never heard of him. He played Mr. Mistoffelees in the original cast of Cats.

On the other hand, even with the same eejits in charge, you're clearly not going to be the next Leeds. Leeds got to the play-offs in their first season in the Championship but failed to go up. The rest is history... You'll get automatic promotion, no problem

And they turn out a lot of top notch footballers for such a small country.

Perhaps one of the law bods can explain. He was found not guilty, so there'll basically be a whole new civil trial then? Sounds like that could get very expensive for the DJ if he loses. Much easier to win a civil trial - got to prove a much less severe burden of guilt No 'Stevie G' loving jury to persuade either. OJ was found not guilty by a jury but guilty by a civil trial. I guess that's the clincher. Has the DJ really got that much better a chance of winning in a civil case? Would the court also fine Gerrard or only award damages and costs?

exactly, remember his record against the big teams is shocking, even shola has a better record than he has as soon as chelsea etc play them, owen will be marked out of the game simple as Aye. Owen hasn't been a match-winner since he did his hamstring the first time at the end of 2001. He never regained his full pace or fearlessness. Tbh, I wouldn't expect him to play against Chelsea etc. I figure he's just backup.

Three of them rather small.

Can't see that: he's too one-dimensional. He'd have to score an enormous number of goals for Capello to pick him.

From what most of us saw of Owen last season, you'd be forgiven for thinking the statue had already been made. They have the real Owen under a tarpaulin at the workshop.

Accepting donations for the statue now...

I was thinking that too, the other suggestions are fairly possible though, especially the one about not enough English players playing abroad. It's all based on statistics, so it's largely guff.

Selling is easy. Getting the price they want is hard. Anyone offers £500m, H&G will bite their hand off, but if push comes to shove, they'll accept a lot less. Survive, of course, but it would put a big crimp on transfers. Given Wenger's spendthrift ways, it'd affect Arsenal the least on theory. In practice, it'd probably come down to holding on to players first and foremost.
-
I think H&G would sell the club if they couldn't service the debt. I think Man Utd and Arsenal would be in a spot of bother, too, if they missed out on CL footie. The CL is worth a metric ton of cash.

He acts as if he has never had a penny to spend, when he has spent and wasted fortunes. More than Manchester United have spent in the same time period. Really? Over the past 5 years, not including this transfer window, Liverpool have spent £24m more than Man United. They have indeed. Not that that says much at all. Do you remember the squad we had 5 years ago and the one they had? Fergie has only had to fine-tune his squad for over 10 years. So Benetiz can't complain when he has been given a fair amount in comparison to his competitors. What fair amount is this? He has spent £224m in 5 years. Perhaps if he didn't waste his money on a overrated right back or on tosh like Dossena and Keane he might go places in the league. And his gross spend is still less than that of Chelsea, Man City and Spurs. Sunderland and NUFC spent £150m and £120m gross respectively over the same time frame. We've gone from fighting against you for fourth to fighting Man Utd and Chelsea for first. I'd love to know what standards you're judging Rafa by here.

No, that's Man Utd. We're sort of half that in debt. AFAIK, the club itself bears £100m of the debt, the owners personally about £70m, and the holding company the majority of the debt (£190m). Technically speaking, the club's doing okay but the parent company is up to its eyeballs in debt. Seeing as the club is the holding's only asset, I guess it makes zero difference in practice. No offence, but us lot were asking for something similar, and a lot of Liverpool fans called us deluded for wanting it. What do you mean exactly? The transfer kitty? The title challenge? He acts as if he has never had a penny to spend, when he has spent and wasted fortunes. That's really not true. About £80m since he's been here is the net outlay. He's gone through a lot of players, mostly cheap-ish squad journeymen, though, and we haven't really lost our shirt on any of them. And for that, he's built a very good first team, and a good squad. Here's a list of Rafa's buys and here's a list of Prem squad costs from Feb 2009. Spurs and Man City both have more expensive squads than Liverpool. The Glazers have said that money is available for Fergie to spend if he wants, Chelsea have already spent over double what Rafa has in the same time, and everyone looks like a mug in the transfer market next to Wenger. The fact that they haven't spent is a great chance for us. We've been getting closer spending £20m each season while Man Utd and Chelsea have been spending £30-40m, so we need to push on now while they're standing still.

This all seems to be coming from Talksport at the moment, which let's be honest, is about as close to reality as a Harry Potter book. Won't believe a word of it till there's a more reliable source. That's not to say I'm not crapping in my pants right now. It wouldn't surprise me if he did walk away (in general, not now in particular). He's not the kind of guy to take any crap, expecting a transfer kitty of £15-20 on top of what he makes from sales is hardly unreasonable given he's supposed to be mounting a title challenge, and it's not as if he'll struggle to find a new job.
-
It leaves them in a rather awkward position if the transfer falls through.

Owen will score a lot of goals for ManU. Injury doesn't take away your eye for a goal, and against less than great opposition he'll have shedfuls of chances on a platter in a side like theirs. I can see Fergie playing him fairly regularly against bottom-half sides when he won't be expected to do much other than shoot.
