  1. What on earth are you on about strange little Scandic chappy?

  3. Aye. What a shite chairman, eh? I better not say unless I fancy a 'conversation' with his groupies again.
  4. Aye. What a shite chairman, eh?
  5. And that is funny exactly how? mackems.gif
  6. Exact same thought crossed my mind too. Damn, we're all SO cynical!
  7. Was just thinking of Gareth Bale as a possibility for the future - at 17, he's being sniffed at already by Arsenal and Man U - £7m though, means he's out of our market surely? - but I think he's been in impressive enough form this season so far to suggest he'd be a far better bet than Babayaro any road. Would like to see us sign another striker - David Suazo, Nikola Zigic, or Isaac Promise (Genclerbirligi) Agree that a right back (Neill) and a centre back (Distin) also needed. Would be happy to see Distin back so long as we play him centreback not left back this time, not so sure about Lucas Neill myself, but f*** he'd still be better than Carr. Wes Brown or Phil Bardsley would be decent signings also. Also, that lad Whittaker (Hibs) has been reasonably impressive so far this season...could be worth a punt?
  8. Just savvy investment managers taking a punt on the back of current rumour and speculation. Nothing anymore significant than that.

    The Injuries at NUFC

Can't help wondering if better pitch maintenance is resulting in more injuries - the ground could well be much harder than it used to be as a result of under-pitch heating, covered stadia etc - and then you've got these so-called advances in boot design (which were blamed for Rooney's injury before the World Cup)... Player injuries are also treated with much more caution (generally speaking) these days because of insurance clauses. EDIT: and this too...

To be fair, who the fuck understands the real point of ANY of your posts?

So another, in your opinion, poor player signed for millions sanctioned by the board? Yup. Souness was crap, there's no doubt about it. Thompers, straight question for you, yes or no will do. Do you believe the Board should interfere with team affairs, making the decisions on who should join and who should leave? It depends who's manager at the time. what sort of response is that I hope I don't hear you criticising Fred for interfering with managers doing their jobs when you have just said you agree with it If I was chairman, I'd certainly not interfere with Robson, I'd trust him to do his thing, as a proven competent manager. With Souness, if I was chairman, I wouldn't appoint him in the first place, but if he actually was at the helm, I wouldn't trust him with £50m that's for sure. But of course, it comes down, again, to the poor manager selection thing. so, you agree that a chairman should tell his manager who to buy and sell ? NE5 & HTL - thought you should see this...it's a quote of the day from my Google homepage, but for some unknown reason when I read it earlier I instantly thought of you two: "A healthy male adult bore consumes each year one and a half times his own weight in other people's patience." - John Updike
  12. I would have thought he would have wanted to buy Sheffield United. rimshot.gif
  13. Indeed I have. Didn't think it was standard taxidermy procedure to eat the subject matter first. I suppose you could try and scoop out the innards first and then cook it, before stuffing the bird. But would love to see you try it that way - since you'd essentially have to skin the bird first, pop the contents in the oven, then afterwards try and replace the skin and feathers afterwards!
  14. So run that one past me again, you say we should: 1. Kill it. 2. Eat it. and THEN 3. Stuff it for a mascot... Right...
  15. Has to be Brian Pinas. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Stadium/2577/youthbp.jpg Disappointingly, he never did manage to fulfil his promise and lob Seaman from the half way line.

    Pathetic

Refused to wear it! Pathethic that is! (Canny player though) not in englund He will be. Starting to show his true class, now he is upto speed with the pace of the Premiership. Yep, doesn't really suprise me any more these days how quickly people will write a player off. Luque? Anyone? *puts on tin hat*
  17. Sacking would be too good for him. He should be taken outside and shot at dawn, assuming we lose.
  18. We should never have sold Bellamy. Or Robert. Luque is fantastic. We're a top 5 club. Yah-de-fookin-yah...

And Dunedin...even if you are a Hibee...can you seriously see Whittaker playing in the EPL?

    stupid question

Not sure. Think it's got something to do with us having played in the UEFA on Thursday and they're playing in something called the Champions League on Tuesday.

I fear this to be true.
  22. Apparently Bellamy said that when he said this he was being witty. I have to say, I think that is a stunningly witty retort. Worthy of Invicta, tbh... Again...
