  1. The surprise to me was more that they'll lose him on a free the following year.

Is one more year of a slightly declining Salah worth losing the sizable transfer fee for? I'd have thought not.

  2. Ornstein reporting in the Athletic today that Liverpool 'fully expect' Salah to stay this summer and are making plans for next year with him in the squad.

    Surprised at this tbh...

I think you've got that entirely wrong.

Gilmour has absolutely kicked on since going to Brighton. He's a really good technical player from what I've seen. In fairness to Brighton, they really don't do "bad" players.

I'm not saying he's for us mind, but he's a good player.

Yep - he's had some exceptional games for them this season.

He's also capable of going missing but, as a technical midfielder, he's got tonnes of potential imho.

Would trust Howe to work his magic on the lad too...

  4. I always had a hunch he had a financial interest in Castore, this article doesn't confirm it, but does talk of 'cosy' relationships and exclusivity between Castore and SD.

He's acting more and more like a spoilt prick who just chucks his toys out the pram when the wind doesn't blow in his direction.

Really hope they rule in our favour on this one and, when you read the summary in the attached, it certainly seems to stack up more towards our side than his imho.

Kinda feel whoever takes over may be on a hiding to nothing. Suspect Salah and other aging players will see Klopp going as a good time to leave as well for one last payday, they feel midway through that transition anyway which is a bad time to take over. Will he get the patience as suspect the change will mean a season or two adapting and changing and that means fighting for champions league place rather than title, if that isn't good enough will he be shown door as soon as Alonso is actually available (suspect he will go to Real Madrid anyway but that never lasts forever in fairness). Having said that could be seen as a can't lose on his behalf, either he establishes himself well at top end of premier league immediately, or he fails because noone could succeed after Klopp and will no doubt get chances at other premier league clubs.

I just feel a little for De Zerbi clearly auditioning for top premier league job by making a similar move but to brighton and gets skipped over, having said that I think De Zerbi has had a fairly mid season with Brighton so can see him being passed over a bit.

Salah going in the summer for whatever massive number will be helpful for any new manager in terms of affording his people to play his system so I'd say there should be no excuses, as hard as it will be for anyone to follow Klopp.

On the RDZ point, I know a few Brighton fans who are growing frustrated with him and particularly didn't appreciate his recent comments which kind of challenged the boards intentions going forwards. The guys I know are massively loyal to Bloom and Co and not to any manager thats for sure.

There is a feeling on the south coast that he's off this summer...

  6. Brighton fan mate of mine reckons he's been told that Liverpool will have to pay an additional £43m for McAllister if they win the league this year.

    Surely can't be right?!? [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38].

  7. Felt he was poor on Saturday. Made Iwobi look like a half competent player at times which is a worrying sign.

My biggest frustration with him, acknowledging he's clearly a talented kid, is that he stands off wingers massively. Gives them miles too much room. He allows them their first touch and body shape adjustment before he's anywhere near them.

  8. Can’t believe this topic isn’t top of page 1 given that poxy slice out for their throw in which was the source of their second.

Sick to death of watching him run up and down the flank like he’s towing a fucking fridge on his back.

Get him dropped man. Fucking awful.

17ft tall and rarely dominates in the air either.

Hope we can get shot in the summer. He’s a passenger who hides from the ball. Pure profit from an FFP point of view as well.

    Fuck knows who buys him.

I know a close friend of his family and she reckons he’s shitting himself about being sold off. He’s very aware he’s prime FFP fodder.

  10. Very minor I know, but a small positive from tonight was that he looked very sharp/fit right the way through the game.

Our best player tonight imho. Appreciate that’s no big achievement but still.

Does anyone else think his body shape has changed a bit this last few months? He looks

broader and stronger to me without losing his pace imho.
