We don’t know they are hesitating, I agree the time taken is a bit of a concern given our current position but the only time to judge them is after the new manager is named. If they announced a top class manager then they taking a few weeks wouldn’t matter.

In an ideal world I agree, who knows maybe that’s why it is taking a while and they are getting a sporting director in and he is choosing the manager.

Have any of the owners though ? Or are you saying you want a sporting director in first ?

Pretty sure I read a week or so ago that Fonseca was Stavely’s choice so will be interesting to see what happens.

Haven’t seen the full article but part of it says Stavely will make her final recommendations to PIF who will make the final decision.

I’m certainly surprised by the speed of things since the takeover and that’s not me being negative or criticising them, I just expected them to come in and be ruthless and ride the wave of optimism they created. Obviously the last 3 games has dulled a lot of that but as long as they get the manger in this week and it’s not a Martinez or Lampard I think we can start looking forward again.

Think it’s a bit soon to say it’s already gone wrong, we haven’t got a manager yet so that will be the first real decision to judge them on. Hopefully this will be followed by a chief executive on the PIF side so it can speed up footballing decisions ahead of the January window because we have to be ready with players ready to sign as soon as it opens

I think I would give Hodgson the job till the end of the season than let Martinez anywhere near us. That’s how much of a disaster I think Martinez would be.

It all rests on the managerial decision and we need it soon.

I think he will be in charge regardless and if we appoint someone he will be in the stands.

I’m not even confident Martinez would get us promoted tbh

Yeah I’m not saying that’s the reason I’m just guessing at what people are speculating it could mean.

The thinking is that he’s in the UK for talks with us but didn’t want to be at our game to increase speculation ?
