Caulkin also saying that McClaren was on the brink before we managed to beat Liverpool and Spurs, and that tomorrow holds the key to his future.

We will win tomorrow, I am absolutely convinced, it's the same every time there is any speculation he has always managed to scrape a win. However assuming we were to get beat, does anyone really think we would have a replacement in by the time we play Leicester? That would surely mean we would be talking to someone right now, and we don't do forward planning. If we were to sack him my Hess is they would put Cathro in, and by the time we got round to appointing someone else it will be another 3-4 games down the line.
  3. As I said in the WBA match thread, the best thing for us would be to get beat, but we will sneak a close win and McClaren will be saved for another few games. It's been the same cycle all season, where by results mean he is under massive pressure yet one scrappy win convinces the board he should keep his job. 1-0 to us.

Our whole club is modelled on selling players, if anything the players already know that they are going to leave if we go down. It makes no difference to them what league we are in, if someone bids enough we will accept.

Assuming he was to go after this weekend, which he should regardless of the result, can anyone name a serious and competent replacement that they think would be willing to come in for 11 games and risk a relegation on his CV?

If there was any danger of him being sacked it would have been after the Chelsea game. He's here to stay and that includes managing us next season in the championship.
  7. Supposedly confronted fans who booed after the game asking them why because there was nothing wrong with the performance. Lascelles supposedly pulled him away.
  8. He's in so he can work hard, but he doesn't even do that. What an absolute joke of a team, spent 18 days trying to sort our away form out and Gouffran is the answer.
  9. Pardew actively made me celebrate other teams scoring against us, and for the first time ever not enjoy football, for that reason i can see why anyone favoured Sunderland last night.
  10. Just realised he took Wickham off as well to try and hold on for the 2-1. Big Sam had a dig at him as well in his press conference.
  11. From the palace message board... It's definitely time to look at his future. Here's my appraisal of his season. League- underperforming. This is the main thing. We all expected to be somewhere between 8th and 12th this year. Currently 14th and in free fall FA Cup- obviously doing well Transfers- shocking. Spent a lot of money on a lot of s*** and in positions we didn't need. Hasn't got the best out of our marquee signing Cabaye either who certainly doesn't look like a 10m, 80k per week player Tactics- someone else said if and they're right. 18 halftime subs suggests he f***ed up the tactics to start with. That combined with a complete lack of plan b is not good enough. Motivation-He's dropped players who inspire fight in the club and turned our team into a lightweight, uninspired team. He's tried to come in and change what we're good at and its not working. Holloway did the same and got crucified. Results- I think Pardews only one match away from matching holloways and palaces worst ever run in prem. Not winning in ten is unacceptable no matter who is manager. We can all make excuses about injuries but othsr teams have too and none of them are on this run. Likeability- personally I can't stand the bloke and never have been able to. Arrogant and to me rotten to the core as a person. Nothing I see in him is palace. Believes his own hype even when results prove otherwise. There's a reason EVERY club he's managed hates him. Without exception. Youth development- there has been none. Not entirely his fault as just one of those things in the prem but would like to see a bit more of this. There's my penny's worth and sure some will mention what he did last year but that's largely irrelevant as its what he's doing here and now that matters. For me, no wins in next 3 league games and he should be gone.
  12. I hate him more than Sunderland, so come on Sunderland.
  13. I mean from McClaren as in he can play as badly as he wants yet plays every minute of every game.
  14. He's seemingly untouchable for some reason even though he is woeful the majority of the time.

Does anyone honestly believe that they will even be considering getting rid of him?

Perfect time to sack him, gives us 18 days to replace him and some decent games to pick up points. Any normal board/owner would act now. If he stays we are down.
  17. Hopefully he doesn't start Aarons at LB, or we are asking for trouble.

He will get a drab 1-0 win today and the board will think everything is ok again. They never look at the bigger picture which is the run of defeats that will follow on from this. If we don't sack him after this game we have zero chance of staying up.
  19. So Doumbia not ready to start, typical of us, we are in desperate need of goals and we desperately needed a striker who was ready to come in and start immediately and we get one who isn't fit and probably wont be for a few weeks considering he hasn't played for ages.
  20. Surely Doumbia has to start, otherwise it proves we bought in a striker just to make up the numbers instead of bringing one in who is ready to play and make an impact immediately.

Yeah I'm not comparing in terms of ability, I'm thinking a real step away from the usual Ahley appointments would be a top foreign appointment. I'm not trying to say Pardew and McClaren are equal to Moyes and Rodgers.

Really? Both failed at the last job or jobs for Moyes and both probably desperate for a job.

Moyes would be the worst appointment for me. If he kept us up he would have us between 12th and 15th every season, Ashley would love that and the fans would sit and accept it.
